Sry to sound so ignorant, but, what are the landmark threads? I mean, what's the difference between them and the book, food, culture, threads? I wish that I knew. I have to get some sleep. [Sleep] Bye, bye!!

Landmark threads were started by Papa Moose, who decided to tell us all about a part of his life on his 1000th post.

We all thought it was a wonderful tradition to start, so when some one hits #000 posts, they tell us a little about themselves, if they want. The threads are archived because we were afraid of losing them when the board got cleaned out, so the Mods generously began archiving them for us.

Edit: correct numbers and strange paragraphing.

Ni!

I think you'll notice a common theme running through many of the landmark posts. They're usually written by a poster who has achieved a certain number of posts, and they most often serve the purpose of telling a life story. Though certainly there are landmark posts which differ from the norm.

The reason there's another section for them is because they were, until recently, scattered throughout the other forums. Our gracious hosts conveniently set up the Landmark Posts forum so that you could read them at any time without having to do a search, and they will never drop off the radar.

Pretty cool, yes? [Cool]

Ahhh, I see!! That's really cool. I have a little ways to go... [Big Grin] That's neat, I guess I was too busy trying to figure out what they were all about to notice the number pattern. I was thinking that it was about actual land landmarks, you know? Like, a mountain with moss all over it, or a big red "x" on a map, or something... [Blushing] silly me!! [Razz] Thanx
