About two years ago, OSC posted on this site a Christmas gift for Hatrack readers. It was a short story about travel between different dimensions. Can anyone tell me whether it has been published? It isn't available on this site anymore, as far as I can tell.

I think you're thinking of Angles. I know it was contained in Doorways, the small book made available at Christmastime a year ago. I don't know where else it's available, but an Amazon search would probably turn it up, I'd guess. I think I'm remembering that it came out once in printed form (Doorways, no longer available) and once in audiobook (Angles and Other Stories), but if I'm wrong it's not like it would be the first time. Fourth or fifth, maybe.

I don't recall Angles being a Christmas gift to Hatrack story. But I do remember this one: http://www.hatrack.com/osc/stories/homeless-in-hell.shtml

This is the Christmas present that *I* remember, though I'm sure there were others as well.

Maybe it's not the one you're thinking of as it is a play and not a short story.

Angles was, indeed, our Christmas present in 2002. Follow Pop's advice, and you should find it.

I remember Angles being on hatrack, and I saved a copy of it to my hard drive. What do you guys think -- would it be OK for me to send a copy of it to Camber?

You could report your own post, so you can get a response from the people who would have the correct answer.

I wonder whether they would prefer us not to use the whistle-icon that way. Isn't there an official link for e-mails somewhere on the site map?

-o-

In any case, I suspect the official answer would have to be that it's not okay. After all, if they wanted free copies of the story to still be available, it would still be here. And I seem to recall having read that we were given the right to print one copy, but not to give copies away. You could mail him your sole printout. I bet that would be okay. (I think the official answer would have to ru along those lines to protect their copyright or something along those lines.)

In any case, I hear Tor is releasing a version of Doorways with one extra poem for just $24.95. [Wink]

Along those lines, I have a few people I really want to read Homeless in Hell but I know they won't read it if I just give then the link. If it's been published and is still in print, I would love to buy the copies. I actually even have money to buy copies. [Big Grin] But if it's not, do you think it would be ok for me to print off a copy, since it's online anyway and is just a matter of form?

I think the stated rules are that you can have one computer copy and one print copy. And yeah, the whistle-blower probably isn't the best way to go -- I just thought of it because it worked for someone before. This is the contact link.

Thanks for all the responses. I think you are right about it being Angles--IIRC, the word angles referred to the different dimensions. If it is going to be available in Doorways, I'll just get it there. No need to push the envelope on copyright issues.

(Camber, I was joking about the Tor thing. Inside joke . . . sorry to get your hopes up falsely.) [Smile]

There was talk of a second collection of short stories being published. Many refer to it as Maps II, though there's no guarantee (or even official indication) that it will be called that. But there are lots of short stories many of us would love to see made available in such a collection. Lots. Many.

Honest.

Sorry, I was having a memory lapse. I was thinking of the PWEB contest where they are offering a copy of Doorways and An Open Book, and I got them mixed up.
