This has probably been discussed in great detail here but i am to lazy to look it up. Does anyone know if OSC has any plan on continuing the Ender/speaker/xeno part of the series ?

Well, if you just took one look around you'd find out that OSC is planning a book or series of books linking the Shadow series to the Speaker/Xenocide/Children of the Mind series.

When he spoke of a book "linking" the series together, he was speaking of after CotM -- Bean's child/offspring/something will dilate his way through time and meet Ender-as-Peter. However, Shadow of the Giant will certainly be the next Enderverse novel.

Welcome to Hatrack.

once again not to sound like an ass or anything, and I assume its due to my own wording, but I was misunderstood. So lets ask the question again: Has there been any official talk about a book to come after children of the mind, and if not do any of you, personally, believe there will be such a sequal

p.s.- thanks for the warm welcome papa moose...noticed your name from the end of shadow puppets

I think we're crossing paths here without intersecting, demon. Yes, there will be a book that occurs chronologically after Children of the Mind. It will probably revolve around the descoladores, the nature of Val/Jane, and the new Peter attempting to take over the Hundred Worlds, though that is supposition. It will also continue the Shadow series, in that some offspring of Bean will experience the same time-dilation effect that Ender did, and so will have lived those same three thousand years. Thus will the two storylines be "linked" back together, which is why it's sometimes referred to as a linking book.

OSC has stated his intention to write such a novel, but when it will happen is anyone's guess. My own guess is that it will be released in the November-06 to January-07 timeframe, but that's more hope than prediction.

P.S. Thanks for noticing me in the acknowledgements. Have you read The Crystal City? *smile*

after reading the enders series i didnt enjoy xenocide, and children of the mind as much as enders game and speaker for the dead because the last two didnt really focus on ender that much. even when it did he was just some old, spent person who stayed in some catholic monastery. i couldnt stand watching ender slowly be pushed out of the picture. if there is another book then it better have some one like bean because theres no that i appreciate as much as i did with ender and bean.

OSC already said that Bean will die, and he has no intentions of making some kind of miracle and saving Bean. We all know he will die, so this is, technically, not a Spoiler.

about that book everyones been talking about, the one that is supposed to connect enders series and the shadow series. im curious to see how osc does that because if beans children survive then at least one of them most likely has the same genes as bean so they would have to rapidly be reproducing, and for 3000. also, if beans children lived, then they would most definitely have an effect on the hundred worlds.
