Given a modern context, ie today, what would you do with the Maker Knack if you were suddenly blessed with it, or if you were suddenly a Torch?
We know so much more about the nature of things now that I would expect the knack to be enhanced by the info. I would certainly make myself wealthy, use the knack to heal the wealthy and desperate, and to make my car indestructable. I am a simple creature though.
If I were a torch I would use it to bounty hunt and chase Terrorists for profit, and find lonely women! BC

Like Alvin, I think I would personally avoid using it for personal gain at all. It would be way too easy to get totally corrupted by it.
I would probably also hide it -- imagine if today's media got wind of the fact that you have a knack! You'd have to find a deserted island to hide on to get away from them!

I would try to help people, without being exposed. I would rather not have the world know about my ability. As for being a torch, I would hate it. There is to much out there that you can't stop, and knowing ahead of time would make you guilty when you could not stop it.

I'm already operating way below my potential, so I'm not sure how having such a knack would change things.
