You know what aspect of OSC's talent I don't think is emphasised enough? His ability as an anthologist. Future on Fire and Future on Ice are both full of compulsively readable, fantastic stories. I wish there were a few more like them.
So the thread has two questions: First, any favorites from the Card Anthologies?
Second, any short story reccomendations in the same vein as them?

I don't think he made a single misstep in Future on Ice--all the stories are fantastic. Every last one of them. If I had to pick a favorite, though, it'd probably be George R. R. Martin's Portraits of his Children. Fantastic story.
The other day I was in a used bookstore and saw a copy of an anthology Card had edited in 1980 or '81--a collection of dragon stories, I believe. I can't recall the title at the moment. No introductions by OSC or anything--just the straight stories. I didn't have the cash on me to buy it, but I plan to go back for it soon.
