Depends on the edition. Currently I only have the turtle back version so I doubt my page number will help you...

In other words, we need to know, paper back, hard cover, or turtle back?

I know. Let's put out a new edition of EG with every sentence numbered. We'll call them "verses." Then, regardless of what page numbering your book has, you can just cite chapter and verse!

Has anybody ever done something like this with a book, to make it easier to find quotations?

www.turtlebound.com

Apparently it's some sort of rebound hardcover made from a paperback. Weird thing is that link gives me a different page each time I click it. So just keep hitting Refresh until you get enough info. [Dont Know]

Actually for the next edition of EG ES etc that would be a very good idea since it would allow us to find the qoutes, however the format should be just so so that we dont get distracted by the verse number.

sorry, but referring to Ender's Game 2:35 just feels wrong, somehow.

You could have all of Ender's direct quotes appear in red.

Not really that still wouldn't help when trying to delve through the book to find some obscure quote. Numbering the verses like in shackespear wouldn't be so bad but it should be actually be made to seem like shakcpsere just you know every 5 or so lines numbered to make it easier for quick searching.
