I was thumbing through a "digital media" magazine in a lobby somewhere and came across an ad that said something along the lines of "It's one thing for robots to take over the world. It's another thing entirely to reward them for it."

According to this advertisement, Robota had been made into a computer-animated movie!

I loved the Robota picture book (graphic novel? what do I even call it?), but I haven't been able to find this movie anywhere, either online or in stores. Can anybody shed some more light on this for me?

I think one of the PLANS for Robota is to turn it into a feature film, but I don't think that plan has been realized ... yet.

Definitely. The book had an amazing story to go along with the very interesting images. With the right screenplay, and some very good computer-generated animation, it would make a great movie.

Actually, I'd be interested to see Henson's take on it, rather than going CG for everything.

There's work on making it into a movie and a computer game. And I think both will happen, sooner rather than later. Doug Chiang is an incredibly talented guy. And he has enormous respect in Hollywood.

That sounds cool...I saw a trailer for the videogame many months ago on a demo disk...No gameplay footage of course, so I have no idea if actual development on the game had even started, and I've seen nothing since =0(. It was just a short clip of cool looking robots running around and stuff. I for one would very much enjoy more Robota in my life.

Amazing news.

I loved Robota, my only complaint was that it was too short.

The video previews were great.

Ach! You guys are killing me! Everybody talks about these awesome animated trailers, but I can't find any! [Mad]

It's great that it's being made into a movie/video game, though. I'll be eagerly awaiting both.
