I don't want anyone to get upset with me, but am I the only one who was a little dissapointed with the end of Sarah. I get that Abraham almost sacrificing Isaac didn't directly involve Sarah, but I still felt that a little closure would have been nice. I felt like a lot of things were left open ended, like the relationship between Isaac and Ishmael or Isaac and his father. In Rebecca, by the time we get to Isaac again he is already immersed in his difficult relationship with his father and his troubled relationship with Ishmael. I was hopping that Sarah would help explain some of that (I read the novels out of order). Is it just because the stories are of "the women of Genesis," so the lifes of the men aren't explained as thoroughly? anyways, any feedback would be appreciated.

The stories are of "the women of Genesis," so the lives of the men aren't explained as thoroughly. Sarah wasn't part of the story of Abraham and Isaac at Mt. Moriah. BUT every reader is presumed to know what happens there. So why elaborate it, when the point of view character wasn't present?
The central story for Sarah was over: She had finally received fulfilment of her promise, after a long and painful road. She had her validation for having married as she did, rejecting the god of her upbringing.

Ok, i suppose i knew that from the beginning. I was just hoping that there would be one more chapter by the time i got to the end, as is the case with almost everything i read. would Sarah have no reaction to the almost sacrifice? but, the point is moo. i love Sarah and i can't wait to get started on Rachael and Leah. Thanks for responding.

I was waiting to see how he would write that sacrifice scene too. When I got to the end I realized that Sarah wasn't there so that scene wouldn't be in the book ... but I was interested to see her reaction to it. I felt a little ... I don't know, apprehensive? ... knowing that at the end of the book she was so happy and fulfilled, sending her son off on a trip with her husband with no idea what they were about to do. I would have liked to see her reaction when they came home.
