Hello, all...I have been a longtime lurker, but just came across something that prompted me to put my two cents into the public domain.
OSC was recently one of the keynote speakers at the CATE (California Association of Teachers of English) Convention, which I attended. At the signing afterward, I asked him about a couple of his projects that I have the most interest in. Time limitations being what they were, I could not ask about everything, but I thought I would share what I DID find out.
1) The Mayflower Trilogy WILL be finished...someday. OSC was very definite about the story being completed, but did not commit to any timeframe (the statement above was almost exactly what he said).
2) There will be a new collection of OSC short fiction in the relatively near future, at least from what I gather. What OSC said was that he and the publisher are waiting for a few first-run exclusivity time periods to run out before compiling it. I don't know if this means it's six months or two years away (I don't know much about the speed of the publishing business), but it appears to be in the pipeline.
Anyway, sorry in advance if I'm posting anything that's old news; I just wanted to share.
