hey guys, i'm a newbie here and I've been seeing all this stuff about new OSC books in the works and I'm about to have a moment of total hysteria! glad i found this forum...i've been viewing the site for ages, but never logged on to the forums..so my question is, can someone give me the scoop about what's on Mr. Card's plate? I know there's the new Ender book which i'm really excited about, and Maker Alvin (thank you for that Mr. Card), and then I read about a video game being made into a book and a book entitled Rasputin that's a sequel to Lovelock...is there anything else in the works that's been mentioned? I swear, this forum is like christmas morning to me! [Big Grin]

Amazon.com says a new book titled EMPIRE is due in November. I've read on this forum that EMPIRE will be a standalone novel, not related to any ongoing series.

But I have no inside knowledge. Just passing on what I've read.

Empire is a collaboration in the sense that what I write will influence the flow of the game, and of course the game is the root situation of the novel.

Looks like we may have a production of Stone Tables on stage out west in the late autumn of 2006. That will necessitate my creating a full script of it that reflects the new stuff added to the novel.

I'm writing the Ender's Game screenplay right now.

I just wrote a long intro and a bunch of short intros for a book of essays about Lost, called "Getting Lost."

I have novellas overdue for months that must be written very soon or I will be killed by the editors or other writers in those anthologies.

And I have a story to finish about Bonito Madrid, called "Pretty Boy," which goes into issue 2 of IGMS. I feel bad about its being late, but I figured the Ender's Game fans would rather have the movie done right <grin> and wait a bit for the story ...

htrkr, I can empathize with you. This site really is like Christmas morning (I love the way you put it). And the fact that Mr Card participates in the forums impresses me to no end.

Too bad the second season of Lost has been so lackluster compared to the first... but I suppose you agreed to write those awhile ago.

/falls down in shock and begins to foam at the mouth from joy at the mention of Stone Tables on stage.

Now I must begin to save money for a trip to see it.

Will the music be the same as on the tape a bought at Deseret Book several years ago, or will that be updated also?

I'm really excited about OSC's latest albumn "Yodelling with a Card: The Classics."

Should be a good one to torment my cat!
