I'm a bit confused about this part though, because here they say:
quote: But this time, the typical video game adaptation cycle is flipped. Chair Entertainment created the story of Empire, while Card is adapting it to his medium of choice.
So does that mean that they gave you the plot they are using in the game, OSC? And then you are expanding on it? Or did they give you their idea for the plot, and then give it to you to work your magic, and then you hand them back an expanded deeper plot to use in the game?
So basically, is your writing itself going to be part of the game? Or did you and Chair Entertainment just agree that you would coin a book within their boundaries for the mutual benefit of boosted sales on the game and book?
Do those questions make sense, I hope?
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

That is good news! I just picked up a copy of Advent Rising, and will start playing it as soon as I am finished with HL2EP1. Based on the reviews for AR, I am not expecting too much in terms of gameplay, but since I am only interested in OSC's contributions, I should be happy enough...
I am glad to know he will be working on another PC game.
Thanks for sharing the link!

I was actually there when the story of Empire was worked out It really is a true collaboration. The core concept, technologies, settings, visuals, and some ideas for major dramatic moments were developed by Chair, but the identities of the characters, the philisophical underpinnings of the story, and the plotline itself are all coming from Card. Both are consulting with each other at every step along the way to make sure that everyone is on the same page.
It's actually very cool how well they're working together, and I'm looking forward to the final product!

I appreciate that info Puppy, it's quite assuring.
Do you mind me asking though, what do you do to be able to be there when something like that is worked out?
