Hey everyone I just thought Id say how I really enjoyed these books. I first read Ender's Game when I was ten and didnt read the rest of the book and sub-shadow series until I was 15. My favorite book out of them though would have to be Speaker for the dead and Enders shadow. The way Card wrote the books really made you feel for Ender and almost seem like you were witnessing what was happening. He also managed to write these books with no sexual content and minimal use of Language. I heard about a movie or something that was going to made for the first two books but I think that would be wrong. When books are made into movies to often are they ruined with bad visuals, where as if you are just reading the book you can kind of create your own little picture of what is happening in your head. Anyway I hope to see some more books on the market. I was very dissapointed when Ender died, and Im not quite sure what to make of the new Peter/Ender character.

Hi TJS. Welcome to Hatrack! [Wave]
Yes, adapted movies are often disappointing to fans of the book. But some turn out well. The Lord of the Rings, though not how I envisioned it, was excellent and far better than I expected it would be.

Hey TJS! : )

There are a few threads in here about the movie... Not sure what they're called but they're probably findable if you just plug 'ender's game movie' or something like it into the search feature.

I know what you mean about the movies messing up the visuals you've got already - I feel the same way. After reading the posts on Hatrack about the time/thought/re-thought that's going into the movie - I've become excited about it...

Happy Posting!!

ps - for more enderish stories, buy igms (available from the front page of hatrack). there are more shorts etc in there... : )

I always read the book again right after I see the movie, and make sure I deliberately imagine what I imagined before I saw the movie. That way I can enjoy the movie AND the book, and keep them seperate.
