I was getting ready to head back to school after a change in major and a year off studies, so i took a job in a call center to save some money, answering questions about peoples medicare part d plan. Horrible, horrible job, incredibly boring, hours of downtime on the weekends. My girlfriend had taken to reading some fantasy series...martin or jordan, i don't recall right now. Well, i tried the Jordan, got 3 books in and lost interest. So, i asked a friend for a good sci fi book, something to mix things up, and he said "Read Ender's Game, but avoid the rest of the series, everyone told me it's awful." Finished ender's game in a 2 days at "work". Obviously, i couldn't stop there, so i got speaker, then xenocide, then Ender's Shadow(...amazon orders don't always come in order, and i couldn't face work without a book) Long story short, i just finished Shadow of the Giant. Not entirely sure why i felt compelled to post here, maybe because i finished reading the books and i'm hungry for more, or maybe because i wanted to let other people who liked the series know i've loved the whole thing. ... ..... Except a few bits of Children of the Mind that i got bored with. (But i was happy at the end!)

And congratulations on becoming an OSC fan. Although a very few number complain about the books, the ender/shadow series are all held close to our hearts.

Alvin Maker series! sorry i couldnt resist. but honestly I would tell you to read Pastwatch: the redemtion of Christopher Columbus. It's always been my favorite standalone OSC novel

I second Worthing Chronicle, especially if you're a fan of scifi. Another second for the Homecoming series, but it's a lot longer. Magic Street, Enchantment and the Alvin Maker series are all fantasy, though very good.

I really like Treason, it's my favorite outside of the Ender series. I'd reccomend Homecoming too.

I just read Treasure Box and quite enjoyed it immensely.
But there's still First Meetings in the Enderverse and the 3 short stories posted on his online magazine- IGMS.

gotta be Alvin Maker series next... then Homecoming series... Pastwatch was the only OSC book I've never been able to finish, simply couldn't get into it... *shrug*

I couldn't get into Pastwatch either. Honstly read Enchantment it has to be one of my favorites.

Ditto that. Homecoming is fine as long as you only read the first 3 books. After that it gets boring.

Reading all the enderverse books and then immediately plowing through this series was a one two knockout punch for me.
The Alvin Maker series has the advantage of also being a series, so there is plenty to read, but the homecoming series has the advantage of being complete.

Hey Alex, Wanted to let you know that OSC does a short story set in the enderverse for each issue of his webmag, intergalactic medicine show. There's also 2 more Ender novels in the works, and a new book set in battleschool coming out in November entitled War of Gifts, or as we like to call it, Christmas at Battleschool.
As far as other published OSC books, I loved Magic Street and Enchantment.

Oh, and just in case you didn't know, The InterGalactic Medicine Show (top of the page) features an Enderverse story every issue.

Update: got The Worthing Saga as a few people suggested, haven't got into it yet, reading this huge backlog of books. Canticle for Leibowitz atm.
