Michelle, I haven't seen the illustrations you're talking about, so I have no idea what models might be depicted in them, but no--it's never been made into a movie. Further, Card has said that it never will be. I won't go into it for fear of spoiling the story, but when you've finished the book ask again and I'll tell you why.

The child on that cover looks sort of like Miko Hughes when he was around 8-10.

There would be no point in making a movie now that my son is too old to play Stevie. ;^)

SPOILER

OSC has said it won't be made into a movie because the plot is so similar to 'The Sixth Sense.'

I don't know why he thinks that, though. Hollywood has shown very little aversion to making the same movies over and over.

i just loved this book!!! i have now read it twice and im thinking a thrid time might be in the future. still havent figured out who that little boy on the cover is i did look up miko hughs but that is the little boy from petsemetary (not the same kid) ill keep looking i know im will figure it out sometime. not sure if i totally agree with it being like the sixth sense, maybe in some ways but not 100%. i would love to see this book made into a movie but i understand why its not.
