I mentioned this in a different thread, but I don't think I asked: who else plans to go to the booksigning in Greensboro next week? I do, and I'm quite excited. I've never been to one before.

Have fun. [Smile] OSC booksignings are a lot of fun.

Too bad California seems to have fallen off his radar. *sniffle*

He's going to be in CA in August; maybe he'll sign something then.

Just for you.

Yes it seems that other places have fallen off his map more than California. But I do know he kept saying he was not going to do booktours anymore so I guess he finally convinced his publisher not to do them. Or only coordinate them with other travel he is doing. Hmmm..thinks about sending OSC a plane ticket to Texas.

He'll be doing Literary Bootcamp that week, too.

Usually when a book is released he'll come up to my area to sign at a store in Northern Virginia. It's been a while, though, since he's done that.

Maybe we can get him for the IGMS anthology. (NoVA jatraqueros, start petitioning now!)

Guess he won't be coming to Missouri anytime soon then, huh? That's rather disappointing.

But I can understand why he'd want to decrease the frequency of his book signings.

Clearly, I should check the calendar before opening my big mouth. [Wink]

But alas, I will be out of the country on August 7!

Send someone with your books! Though it is not the same..it is more about the experience of talking with Uncle Orson and listening to him talk!

I rarely bring more than 1 or 2 books to a signing (and I have considerably more than that). As you say, it is getting to see OSC that is the draw. [Smile]

Fortunately for us Utahns, his parents still live in Orem and so he is obligated to make appearances here and there. [Big Grin]

edit: Bullocks! I'll be in San Diego the same time he is but barring I drop $175 there's no way I can see him. Maybe next time I suppose.

Agreed...I only take the new ones and a couple special ones..Last time I went I took all my Women of the Old Testament books because I loved reading them so much. He personalized all three of them for me even though I only asked him to personalize "Sarah". It was kind of a neat suprise when I got home.

If I open my big mouth, will Texas manage to come up on the calendar?

Aw.

The good news is that he does signings there pretty often.

Ah, I'm near San Antonio. For one of the 10 biggest cities in the U.S., it still sometimes feels like I'm still in the middle of nowhere!

Greensboro is only one state away from us, and I woulda gone to the signing on the 15th. Except I left for Hungary that day.

I've been waiting four years to get more of his signatures to complete my collection. Yet, he does signings when I'm across the Atlantic Ocean.

I was not happy at my luck.
