I mentioned this in a different thread, but I don't think I asked: who else plans to go to the booksigning in Greensboro next week? I do, and I'm quite excited. I've never been to one before.

Just for you.
Yes it seems that other places have fallen off his map more than California. But I do know he kept saying he was not going to do booktours anymore so I guess he finally convinced his publisher not to do them. Or only coordinate them with other travel he is doing. Hmmm..thinks about sending OSC a plane ticket to Texas.

Clearly, I should check the calendar before opening my big mouth.
But alas, I will be out of the country on August 7!

Send someone with your books! Though it is not the same..it is more about the experience of talking with Uncle Orson and listening to him talk!

I rarely bring more than 1 or 2 books to a signing (and I have considerably more than that). As you say, it is getting to see OSC that is the draw.

Fortunately for us Utahns, his parents still live in Orem and so he is obligated to make appearances here and there.
edit: Bullocks! I'll be in San Diego the same time he is but barring I drop $175 there's no way I can see him. Maybe next time I suppose.

Agreed...I only take the new ones and a couple special ones..Last time I went I took all my Women of the Old Testament books because I loved reading them so much. He personalized all three of them for me even though I only asked him to personalize "Sarah". It was kind of a neat suprise when I got home.

Ah, I'm near San Antonio. For one of the 10 biggest cities in the U.S., it still sometimes feels like I'm still in the middle of nowhere!
