I have become fascinated by Google Maps and Google Earth over the last couple years. I have started making maps and models using both products.

I have started making a Google Map of Earth locations in the Ender's Game Universe.

Ender's Game Earth Locations

I will expand on it over time. I would like showing overlays of the empires and associations. I think its a cool way to visualize the world OSC created.

Tell me what you think.

Here is a link to my 3D models I have made for Google Earth. (Non-Ender Related)

As long as it done in a manner that's helpful then no worries, right? (nervous smile)

Helpful criticism comes after the initial creative stage. You aren't there yet, meaning criticism will not help you. Constructive criticism doesn't mean others do your work for you.

Well, it's definitely a map of the earth marked with some of the locations mentioned in the Shadow books.

Is it for fun, or is it supposed to be useful to somebody?

Port, it's for fun and I hope it will be useful, one day, as I add more locations and information to it. For a visual person like myself, when I read books I also like looking at the locations where the moments in the books take place. Orincoro, I just thought I share. I'm definitely not looking for someone to do any work for me.

Nice map, but I was hoping it would show where fictional places in the Ender saga were in the real world.

Thanks, Omega. I am trying to put actual locations where events took place if they are actually named in the source material. Other places I am making guesses or taking feedback as I develop it more.

This is a good idea. Can you add descriptions saying what in the novels happened at each place - like "Birthplace and childhood home of Bean".

Something like this could be helpful to young readers who want to make the connections of where these stories happened. You could even go to street view and look at what those cities really look like.

Or looked like, many years prior to the beginning of the novels.

I think it's an awesome idea if you actually finish it and do it well.

Mapping out Bean's path in Rotterdam would be really cool too.
