I'm fostering two kittens at the moment, and in addition to the two cats I actually own AND five ferrets of Strider's -- we have quite the menagerie in our little apartment.

I just wanted to share the cuteness.

NessaRose and Elphaba

Nessa is the grey tabby and Elfie's the little black one. They are both three-legged -- the vet thinks their mommy might have chewed off their fourth legs [Frown] But they are sweet as can be and regular purr factories.

And i have no idea how I'm going to give them up to other homes!

Awwww!!!! They are so cute!! You guys are awesome for taking care of such little ones - I know it's a lot of work. It's really rewarding though to be able to see little kittens you worked hard to raise become wonderful grown-up pets. I think it takes especially wonderful people to care for disabled animals. Our little kitten we adopted is partially blind (due to an infection she got when she was tiny) and the fact that we felt she was less likely to find a home played largely into our decision to adopt her (as opposed one of the myriad other kittens up for adoption at the shelter).

If we didn't already have 3 cats (1 of which still isn't used to the little kitten we got 5 months ago), I would consider fostering kittens.

Love the names - I just saw that show last night =)

Even if you hadn't said, I'd have guessed Elfie to be the black... her eyes look green and the other's look blue. =)

Is there also an orange one or is that just a trick of the light and I'm seeing Nessa?

Yeah, the digital camera made her look orange in two of the shots -- but she's really gray [Smile]

They are going to be the death of me though -- the lady in charge of the "foster moms" as it were emailed me today and told me that there are already people interested in these sisters. And the first thing i thought was "No! They're mine!"

[Smile]

I'll probably be keeping Elfie...she likes to sit on my shoulder like a parrot and nuzzle my ear. How am i supposed to fight against that??

Awwww!

I've heard of fostering kittens. I think I would enjoy doing that. Porter can't stand cats, but everyone loves kittens! And kittens won't eat my guinea pigs... will they?
