Does anyone else think that TNN's new name and logo are incredibly lame and likely to drive men away with their lameness?

I only watch TNN for two reasons now. Most Extreme Elimination Challenge, and Star Trek:TNG. So as long as they keep showing Star Trek five times a day, I don't care what they call themselves.

That makes me think (*ouch*). Is a station that shows repeats of ST:TNG all day really worried about ratings? Who, besides major trekkies, is watching all this Star Trek?

Those commercials sucked! They drove me insane for half of the summer! Who the heck wants to listen to people say, "America's First network for men" (like we need one for women that just shows victimized women shows and detergent ads? What's this about, beer, shaving cream and Maxim magazine?) over and over and then they show Pamala Anderson. Like i need to see that hag? [Wall Bash]

Most Extreme Elimination Challenge is one of the most fun shows on television right now.

It makes me laugh so much. [Smile]

I know where I'd like them to stick that "Spike".

Stripperella cannot make up its mind if it want to be bad, lame, or sick.

Ren & Stimpy I outgrew in Junior High.

Gary the Rat can be wickedly funny I think, until it tries to make me laugh with death humor. I haven't seen enough of it to know for sure.

ST-TNG is good, but I've got them memorized by now. Can we see some DS-9?

TNN/Spike TV is a network in need of an image, and they keep pulling out the wrong one.

And not to be a jerk or anything, but I thought ESPN was the first network for men. [Razz]

Spike pretty much is the network for boys 12-15. All they really need is "Jackass" reruns to fill out the schedule.

MXC rules, Spike TV sucks (so far). We'll have to see what they do once they make the official name change.

I can't figure out what they're doing. Seems to me, they're never going to go for the testosterone-soaked image they want if they stay the STNG showcase channel. There's just no way to overcome the image of the STNG viewer - overweight males in a state of prolonged adolescence along with their female counterparts.

Before people start jumping on me, I freely admit to being one of those stereotypical overweight males who keep the STNG ratings up. [Smile]

But Like Dan_Raven, I'd love for them to drop them already and pick up DS9 instead!

Spike TV. What is it? A phallic symbol or what?

Remember, these are the same brilliant executives that thought CSI (the least active, most intelligent cop show ever) should naturally follow Professional Wrestling.

Are you implying that those of us who watch STTNG aren't fully soaked in testosterone? [Razz]

I challenge you to a duel. I think.

I would also like to see DS9, but skip the entire first year (I mean Kira was in a waaaaay bad mood, and Quark and Rom weren't featured enough). If they could somehow cut all the scenes with the dead Mrs. Sisko and Cassidy Yeates, I'd love it. Mrs. Sisko's eyes were waaaaaay too big.

Oh, yeah. And the pilot episode, where Sisko is acting all pissed off at Picard for being Locutus. I mean, didn't you just want to yell, "shut up, he was controlled by the Borg, you idiot?"

I'd really like to see B5, but I'm probably completely alone on that.

CSI? So that's that confusing stuff that's on my VCR tape after pro wrestling.

Let me put it this way - if they ever start putting testosterone into onion dip or nachos, then our chips will be fully soaked in testosterone. [Big Grin]

MMMMMM Testosterone chips.

I bet it's on SciFi. I am just going to have to switch to the dish and therefore give up my life outside of TV and Hatrack.

Well, we've already got about four of those, so this is a reasonable move. I just wish that the media didn't have such contempt for men that they equate "men's programming" with "trash". I mean, Spike TV's flagship shows make it look like a 24-hour Man Show

In reality, they show REALTV about eight times a day, which is what makes real men like me truly happy.

They should show The Man Show, it would fit in perfectly. Adam and Jimmy Kimmel are hilarious. As is the fat kid who walks around insulting people.

Not to mention the juggies and girls jumping on trampolines. Now that's quality television.

They'd have to show reruns, then. The next season is hosted by Joe Rogan and That Other Guy.
