If anyone plays the online game utopia, and would like to get into an organized kingdom, let me know...

I would be interested in hearing about your experiences with the game, if you have the time.

Well, the thing is, if you've never played... heh.

Do you know the game? Or just curious about a new one?

It sounds vaguely familiar but I'm drawing a blank. I can google for it and reviews of it, if you don't want to go into it. It's no big deal. It's just that I tend to trust the opinions of people on this site more than some whiny bastard out on the net.

Its an online interactive fantasy game, very good, very challengeing. Its math based, although not very visibly so.

You're lumped into kingdoms of 25 people, you're supposed to work together to suceed.

Our kingdom is, right now, left with the problem that one of our members is not participating, and since we're a good, but not yet great kingdom, we're trying to find someone who would be able to log on at least 2 times per day, and actively participate.

So, thats why I'm asking [Smile]

Its a very popular game, with something like 100,000 players logging on every day. My brother and I both have been addicted for 2 years.

I played around a bit for a while, but could never really get the hang of it. I got swamped by the details. Though I really did get a kick out of the mental image of your raging hordes heading off and picking up and stealing bits and pieces of other peoples kingdoms.

You can find it here:

http://games.swirve.com/utopia/

A game I really enjoyed was Planetarion. But then they went pay and they really weren't worth the $10 a round that they charge. That game had just enough variables to be complex but not enough to swamp me like Utopia.

With great difficulty [Smile]
You're allowed to defect three times per "Age"

An age lasts about 3 months. Every age, there are minor rules and balances changes. Sometimes fairly drastic. When you defect, you lose 15% or so of every aspect of your province.

You can also "cheat" by taking an existing province, and giving the password/email/account name to someone else... this happens frequently, but is frowned upon.

It will take a fair amount of doing. It took my brother and I 9 months to hook up in the same kingdom.

No, someone in a kingdom he was in didn't want to play anymore, but offered his account to the kingdom to find a good player to fill his hole. So I took over that guy's account.
