I've been lurking on this board for about two months or so, and thought this might be my time to let some information out about me, and let myself become a bit better known.... Hi, I'm Daniel Macklin...

I grew up in San Diego, CA. Coronado, to be exact... A small, tourist-y retirement community (we lived in my grandparents' house while they were out-of-country) that used to be an island (a man-made strand was made a long time ago...).

I moved around down there for a few years, my parents split when I was about four, and I lived with my Dad until I was sixteen. After the teen-aged angst finally came between us, I moved from Lakeside (East County San Diego) to Riverside (about two hours north of SD), CA.

I took my junior year of high school at Martin Luther King HS in Riverside, where I met IndexCard and Emperor Palpatine.

About a week after I moved into my Mom's house, I found out that my girlfriend at the time, Laura, was pregnant. So, she moved in with us and the week that school let out, I took her back to San Diego, where we stayed with her mom and on June 27th had the most beautiful baby boy, Eric Daniel Macklin. At seven punds, six ounces, he was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen...

While I was staying in San Diego, taking both the night and day shifts (since 16 yr olds weren't meant to have babies, and Laura had to take a bit longer than expected to recoup...), my mom and step-dad went bankrupt, and their house foreclosed... I lost all of my things while they had a chance to salvage some of their's. No biggie.

That spent the rest of that summer camping in the San Bernardino Mountains, in Lake Arrowhead. They found a cheap place there, (where I'm typing this from...) and I moved in about two weeks after I did.

My senior year was THE very worst year, ever.

I failed, leading me to not graduate with the class of '03 like the rest of my friends. Things between Laura and I went horribly, horribly sour, and she's in a mental hospital in San Diego, and our son, Eric, had to be given up for adoption. My best friend, and now my girlfriend, IndexCard (Shanna) took too many sleeping pills, while staying at my house, and scared the living crap out of me.

Now, my mom got a new teaching job (since Martin Luther King HS didn't ask her back, and the Arrowhead-to-Riverside daily commute is hard...) in Pasadena. We'll be moving sometime at the end of this week, because the school starts really soon.

I am going to have to get a job, save up my cash, get a car, and save up enough to move out, now. I know things are tough, but as of now, the only thing I really have to complain about is being so far away from my girlfriend, heh.

I've been rather depressed lately, but Hatrack and Shanna have been pulling me through. I wanted to say thanks, everyone, and now I hope to feel a little more involved, instead of mainly posting on the lyric thread, hehehe.....
