In the lead story in this month's Ansible, OSC's essay on gay marriage is referred to as crushingly final.

This is the first I've heard about the Anisble. Or even the ansible. That's a heck of a Freudian slip, if you pronounce it out loud.

Oops, good catch pooka. Ansible. It's a great publication--I've had a subscription to the email version for a few years now.

The author, David Langford, started out as a fanzine author, but won a Hugo for "Different Kinds Of Darkness," possibly my favorite Hugo story of the last ten years.

I'm not sure what they mean by "crushingly final". Does that mean they think it is the be all end all position that is irrefutable?
If so, thats just plain BS.
The point he quoted was so "irrefutable" that not a single hatracker defends it here its so ridiculous. If that post was made on hatrack by a regular poster, it would be torn apart for logical and factual fallacies (well, actually, it was anyway). So I would hardly call it "final" by any stretch of the imagination.
But if they meant it to be that it was a crushing blow to those of us who are saddened by the views of someone whose work they have loved, then I agree completely.
