To think I'm in Iraq and I'm more worried about being accepted into a school than bullets coming my way. Well to sum up a long story short I ended up getting bad grades my last two years of highschool ( for many reasons hopefully my being dumb not being one of them ) but getting an okay ACT score ( a 29). The thing is I've only done Algebra I and II , I decided home work was not required of me my junior year on so I ended up failing out of GTA. So I'm short for those 3 years of math etc.. and just hoping I can get accepted into a school in Minnesota, Aghh! I do wish I could take the me of now and go back then, but thats rather impossible and silly. Just wondering if anyone knows something that could help me out.

You could always upgrade. There's no shame in taking a few high school courses to get into a better school.

It's all about community college. One or two terms should get you all caught up and even add some basic generals that you won't have to take further down the road.

Two words: Community college. Yes, I know it's been said before, but they can't be repeated often enough. I firmly believe that even those who can get into a four-year school based on grades should do their general education classes in community college. It's usually less expensive, chances are you'll have more access to your instructors, and the reputation that community colleges are just high school with ash trays is largely undeserved. The problem with four-year schools is that, especially in larger schools, many general education classes are not even taught by professors, they are taught by grad students. Personally, if I'm paying four-year institution prices, I don't much want to be taught by other students.

Foxy, If you stay in the Army for a little bit longer, you can take some courses at the Education Center (for college credit), or maybe CLEP out of math. That's taking a test that proves you can do it, and getting college credit for it. When you get posted somewhere where there's an Educational Counselor, ask them for advice. They are experts in situations like yours. Best of luck, sweetie.

So far, my experience at Community college is very good and I decided to go there for the reasons littlemissattitude mentioned.
