O_o

You know, I really would have thought that when the cast came off, the arm would be straighter. Who knew! He got the last cast off yesterday and is wearing a velcro brace thingy. He wears that till Monday and then when he's goofing around or playing after that. But, the good news is that we don't go back to the orthopod for 6-8 weeks!

Oh, and if anyone is wondering, the cost for the emergency room stuff alone for a broken arm is around 2 grand. [Smile]

Wow...I have a friend who's broken her arm and her two sisters have broken their arms (only one each, mind you...hehehe) at one time or another. That's expensive for a family...About $6,000... well, maybe if some people broke some limbs at the same time, there would be a discounted price... [Big Grin]

hey, that's cool. I didn't see those two posts when I was posting, and then they appeared!! Hehe, I know that just means we're all on at the same time, but it's still funny... [Big Grin]

Kayla where was the break? It actually doesn't look really shrunken or anything from the pics!

The ER cost just to take my daughter in when she fainted and bumped her head was at least 2 Grand too! Must be a price fixing thing!!! [Big Grin]

You may find that "this" side moves much more quickly than "that" side, wieczorek. Good of you to venture over (though I guess you have before, I just haven't been active in those threads). I'll admit, though, that I'm beginning to get tired of your signature quote. We all know it, and there's a reason the "signature" feature has been disabled. However, this will be my first, last, and only comment to you about it.

Geez, I hadn't noticed I was getting so close to 3K. I gotta decide if I want to do anything about that.

KEGE, in the first picture, go from the wrist to the sleeve at the elbow. . . He broke it exactly halfway between those two spots. And trust me, it didn't look anything like before.

Oh, I know, I'll get a photo of his other arm for comparison.

Oh, the 2nd picture really shows it! What did they say about it not being as straight as you expected and when it would "look" normal again?

I'd've expected it to be straight took b/c how in the world is going to continue to "straighten" w/o a cast?

Poor thing!

Okay, I added three more photos.

The orthopod said that the bump would eventually go away. . . mostly. The more muscle, the less noticable it will be. As for the bendy part, that is just the way it's going to be.

Look at "Alex's right arm" and "Alex's left arm" side by side. Follow the top of the right arm all the way from the wrist to the elbow. Then do the same for the left. The right is a nice straight line. The left ain't.

Personally, I think it's kind of cool. I'm also really into scars. [Cool]

Ya. Today was picture day. He has a bunch of those shirts this year. He wanted "hawaiian shirts" which I find amusing since not a one of them is hawaiian. [Wink]

He was a little doll! Well as long as it doesn't hurt him or cause him any problems - then I guess he's just adding "character" with his "battle scar".

still, poor thing ...

We are now up to about $3,000 for the arm. I'm thinking about shooting the insurance company, also.

Has anyone's company ever swiched plans in the middle of an accident? We had 100% accident coverage. Now, we don't. He had the accident when we had the accident coverage. They paid 100% of all of that. However, for the follow-up visits, they don't. I'm having a real problem with all of this. Our insurance went up and the deductible went from $200 to $1,000, we lost the accident coverage and there is a $20 co-pay for doctor visits. So, we get to pay $20 and the $1,000 deductible? And since we had accident coverage when it happened, shouldn't the follow up visits be covered? [Wink] This is just pissing me off.
