The rally yesterday was AMAZING!! My friend and I were volunteers, and we acted as security for the press box -- so we got to push them back as he walked off the stage and shook hands with us
After he was done speaking he did a live interview with CNN, and if anyone saw it, my friend and I were standing over his right shoulder. We were both on CNN.
He went inside to talk to the press, and we waited outside -- we got to shake hands with him again. He left in his red Jeep (I love Populists ).
Anyway, we had to wait a reallllly long time for the Metro, and we were in a hurry because we were trying to get back downtown for a reception he had at a restaurant on U Street. As it turned out, we arrived just as he was about to leave -- we saw and recognized the Jeep sitting outside. We waited for about a minute with seven or eight other people, and then he came out -- and signed our volunteer passes and took a picture with us: check it out!!. I'm on the left of Dean. (warning: it's a big file).
Oh, and did I mention we were interviewed by both a British news station AND the local NBC affiliate?
Yesterday ROCKED!

I just want to point out that, for someone who loves populists, you're awfully giddy about having touched a celebrity.

You know, I just realized, Dean's doctorate is going to be grist for the slander mill if he runs against Bush. 'Oh, yeah. He's got a doctorate from a university. We know what that means.

Actually, no it will be a good thing for the Democrats. They can still continue with the fiction that someone with a Harvard MBA is somehow a "stupid" president.
"Bush is Stupid"
"But he has a Harvard MBA"
"So, our guy has a PHd"

Okay, but the point is the same. My task wasn't to educate people about Howard Dean. It was to anticipate the (fictional) conversation.
And this big smiley's for you:
Not to break it to you, but you could really use an education yourself.
I'm getting very annoyed with the Republican insistence that since Bush attended Yale undergrad and Harvard business, he's intelligent. Hello. Bush got into Yale despite being a C student in high school -- he stole some more worthy student's seat because Daddy was a CIA director. Then he fails Yale, but he's to rich to flunk, so he's given what's called a "gentleman's C" -- too stupid to earn his own degree, but too rich to be denied.
Then he attends Harvard business school, and despite the prestige of the place, Bush somehow manages to run every business he touches into the ground. But I'm sure that wasn't his fault -- he did attend Harvard business, after all. Surely he didn't get through his entire educational career because Daddy pulled the right strings. Christ.

Thanks, Lalo, that was just so dang sweet. It really makes me want to even read a single thing you say.

I can't believe you're still offended over the smiley thing. Get over it.

I don't think you've had a single civil thing to say to me on this forum since the thread about teenage sex. It would be awesome if you could take an intelligent stand here instead of making nasty, sarcastic comments.

I don't know that it was nasty, but David has basically confined himself to sarcastic remarks as his contribution to Hatrack for a long time now. Don't take it personally.

Um, I'm not offended.
I just put it in to let you know that I am still such a good friend that I can tease you while disagreeing with you politically.
I know, it's a lot of information to get from a simple smiley. Sorry. I thought You could read my mind or something.
