Anything related to being homosexual lately has gotten people into detention and even suspended. A little kid was suspended for telling his class that his mom was a lesbian, when he was asked about his 'dad'. Two boys were suspended for kissing at a dance. The list goes on. Are the adults trying to prevent future couples like that? What's there to prevent, their sexuality? I don't understand why someone would take such small things and make it into something extreme. Doesn't make sense at all.

The radio this morning the DJ's were complaing that so many women and girls dance together. They were blaming this on Brittney and Maddonna and rap videos where girls dance naughty together. They noted that the girls would leave the dance (or Bar for the grown women) with boys (men).
They were being idiots. Girls have been dancing with each other for as long as I've been around.
There is a big reason for it.
MEN DON'T DANCE. Well, many men don't. And some women like to dance, so they will take any partner they can get--including thier friends.
It doesn't mean they are going to bed with each other.
But since we are all on Terror Alert Status Pink, every semi-sensual mono-sex moment is being hyperanalyzed.
Next thing you know, they will be wondering what all you women do when you go to the bathroom together.

I hope there's a bit more to some of this. Such as: Some schools, well, a lot of them, actually, you can get in truble for holding hands in the hall(as in, guy and girl holding hands) and a lot of trouble for any major kissing(tonsil-hockey, etc). But then someone snatches on this and conveniently leaves out some info. Ever read Avi's Nothing But the Truth?
I hope that's all this stuff is.

I remember when I graduated one of the journalism students wrote a piece about his mom accepting him as gay (he never used the word "gay," though). It wound up in the yearbook. I lived in Houston then and there as enormous backlash, they wound up reprinting the books and sending them to all of the seniors while we were at college, I can't imagine what that cost us.
Sometimes I think apathy is a virtue. I just don't care what other people do. It's less expensive and it seems to cause less trouble.

Oh, and Dan, about women dancing? I think men don't dance so they CAN watch women dance together. It is an ancient conspiracy. (joke)
