Hi!
This year my 5th graders are studying the regions of the United States in social studies. We are focusing on the economy, environment, climate, cultures, landmarks, and history of each region. My students are not very well traveled. Many of my students were born in Virginia and may have visited a couple of other states. Some of my students were born in other countries and have only seen Virginia.
I thought it would be fun for my students to receive post cards from around the country. If you could find the time to send my class one post card from your state, or a state you are visiting, at some point during the school year it would be greatly appreciated. I plan to use the postcards on a bulletin board in the classroom if possible.

I sent one, and asked for info back for my class. We are studying the states, and we are starting the South next week.
She might want to leave her email, too. A student in my class was studying Arizona, and I hooked him up with my brother, who was a politician there at the time. My student asked questions, and he answered them.
Also, there is a retired couple who travels the country, and sends postcards if you send them a small donation. That is all they do now. I would love that!
