The new Soldier Field is pretty cool looking. And I bet it's a great football stadium. But it's not Soldier Field. Not remotely. Keeping the colonnade intact doesn't make it still be Soldier Field. That's like keeping the columns in front of the White House and replacing the rest of the building with a lavender geodesic dome. It might be cool, but it ain't the White House.

If you're a football fan, you should make a point of watching every game in which Brett Favre plays, because eventually he will retire, and you will only be able to reminisce about the greatest quarterback ever to play the game.

Right now, ABC is airing footage of NFL players jamming with music stars. The NFL players are talking about how cool this is, and viewers will be allowed to vote for their favorite. Dang are they desperate. ABC is a freaking train wreck.
Sad.

Last night, Peyton Manning threw more touchdowns than incompletions.

::decides to join in:: do the bears just suck that bad, or, in addition to sucking, are they grotesquely unlucky?

Man, Urlacher needs to get off that team or something... He's such a great player, and that team has been decimated. He's being wasted, he's one of my favorite players.

Is this merely an indication that MNF's viewers are predominately white? Or predominately too old to like rap? Because it's not like we could hear anough of Harrington to truly be impressed by him. He didn't sing or anything, and the piano was totally drowned out by the rest of Blues Traveler.

Me, too. but doesn't Zach Thomas play MLB? i would like to see Urlacher on the Dolphins, though. Being a UT student, Ricky Williams is just a god around here. But Urlacher signed a practically life-term contract with da bears, right?

Yeah, why did they do that? Was it just TO or that they didn't win the super bowl or what?
Speaking of which, I like how Randy Moss has become the freakkin man. I always wanted him to kick as much ass as his potential.

I missed the part where Harrington won. I like the idea of a piano-playing-quarterback. Somehow, it appeals to me. Now if only he were very very hot...
Through the grapevine, I've heard that the New Soldier Field is an absolute eyesore. Nothing like the beautiful new Lambeau, man.
And people need to stop speculating when Favre's going to retire. He'll go sooner rather than later and we'll all be able to say we were here for it. I would like to see him play until he's 40, but I highly doubt that'll happen. He doesn't seem to care about winning like he did even a few years ago.

I just feel like there's not the same spark lighting his torch anymore (how's that for imagery?). I don't know. Maybe I was forced to pay too close attention for too long and am reading far too much into this, but there's something different.
And don't even get me started on the Green Bay media before every summer's training camp. Ugh - they can't leave the poor guy alone. I'd retire too, if only to get away from them.

You could definitely tell that Al and John were trying to fill the time with SOMETHING more entertaining then my bad news Bears. In my lifetime I've seen them go from 15-1, Superbowl Shufflin' to...this.
Favre hasn't lost much if anything. He was still able to make the throws he needed to, and had a smile on his face. It's hard to win when 2 of your top recievers are out.
Steve McNair also threw more touchdowns than incompletions.

Maybe if the bears lose every game this season they will finally get a new coaching staff. My opinion is that it really isn't the players but the unimaginative coaches that have a totally predictable play calling style. About as much creativity as a... as a... I can't think of anything uncreative enough.

It didn't look like his knee was down out of bounds. What a game! I nearly gave up after the 3rd quarter. Amazing.

That leaping call was crap. Utter crap. They could call that on every attempted block and they choose to call it there?? I could see calling it if there was an advantage gained. Stupid stupid.

That was definitely one of the more inexplicable calls I've seen. They need to change that rule.
