A co-worker just bought some of those "performance khakis," and we've been amusing ourselves all afternoon by flicking liquids and oils at his pants in an attempt to stain them -- with no success. Water, when it doesn't sit interminably on the fabric without soaking in, actually seems to leap away from the cloth as if insulted.
Which led to the question: how do you wash these things?

They just use a liquid other than water. Used to be carbon tetrachloride, but I think it got banned.

quote: Guess what? The Go Khakis" with Stain Defender" pants and Lee" Performance Khakis, which are made with Nano-Care" technology pants performed best when home laundered which is the recommended cleaning method. Liquid stains applied after cleaning rolled off the best on the pants that had been home laundered. Likewise, when the stains were allowed to penetrate and age on the fabric, again home laundering did the best job.

Isually you do it with a light cold wash cycle, and either tumble dry or hang them, it depends upon what fabric is used and what it's coated with Satyagraha
