Ok. A friend of mine has a laptop with XP on it. He's been trying to get MSN Messenger on it but it won't recognize his email addy? Something of that nature. He said he had to do something odd when he put it on his home comp that also has XP but doesn't remember what. Anyone know what the deal is?

Well, from what you said, it's not OS related. If the MSN messenger service won't recognize the .net login, it wouldn't recognize it on any OS no matter what you did to it. It's a problem with Microsoft, not his/her computer.
