I'm between classes and have the first free time I've had in a while! Hooray! Now I shall fritter it all away on fluff...

1. If you had 3 wishes, what would you wish for?
Health and safety for my family, a plane ticket to Indiana, and a sandwich.

2. If you could talk to anyone, past or present, who, and why?
I'd like to talk to C.S. Lewis. The man is brilliant, and I'd love to talk old books with him.

3. If you met someone from another planet, what 3 things would you show him/her/it first?
Yellowstone Park, art museums in Paris, and really good earth cookin'. [Smile]

4. If you could trade places with anyone else in the world, who, and why?
I'm very content with who and where I am. I might wish to trade geographical places, but not identities.

5. If you could wake up in the morning with one new talent, skill, or ability, what?
I'd love to be a good skiier. Actually, any improvement in my athletic abilities would be nice.

6. What would you like to be most famous for?
Being a good Mom, writing good books. In that order.

7. How much money would it take to get you to eat a plate full of worms?
I might do it if someone would pay my remaining tuition [Smile]

8. If you could plan the dream you will have tonight, what would it be about?
I like when I get to fly in my dreams. [Smile] Either that or babies in the produce aisle.

9. If your reflection in the mirror talked back, what would it say?
It would probably chide me on how I'm not living up to my potential. You know - the professor guilt speech.

10. If you could invent something (that hasn't been already), what would it be?
A scholarly work ethic.

11. Where would you go if you could travel back in time?
Medieval France.

12. You have to skip one meal every day. Which?
Breakfast. Oh wait - I already do that.

13. Invent a game in a pool filled with JELL-O.
I think anything involving having to dive through the Jello to the bottom would be cool. Hard to hold your breath for that long, though.

14. If you could change one thing about your appearance, what would it be?
My shirt. Oh wait - I can change my shirt! Alright!

15. What's the greatest invention that hasn't been invented?
My scholarly work ethic.

16. Would you rather be 4 ft tall, or 8 ft tall?
4 feet - so I could crawl into cool little spaces. Besides, being tall is only fun for so long.

17. Would you rather be super-smart, or super-athletic?
Super smart. Because athletes have to retire when they're 35.

18. Would you rather be deaf, or blind?
Hmm... I can still read if I'm deaf, and though music is a big loss, I think art would be a bigger loss.

19. Would you volunteer to be on the first mission to Mars?
And how! Not that I'd be very practical, but I think Mars will need some good logos.

20. Would you rather be really good-looking and dumb, or really ugly and smart?
Ugly and smart. Because everyone gets ugly eventually anyway, and I want to be able to muse about good books when I'm 90.

21. What's the bravest thing you ever did?
Rescued my friend who was stuck in Geneva and couldn't get back into France through train scheduling and speaking a lot of worried French to officals.

22. What would you change your name to if you had to?
I've toyed with the idea of dropping my last name and making my middle name my last name.

23. Would you rather: read people's minds, be invisible, fly like a bird, or blow things up anywhere with your thoughts?
Fly! Not even a question.

24. If you went 300 years in the past, could you prove you were from the future?
I think my dialect would say a lot. Though maybe I'd tell them all about the upgrades in OS 10.3 and that would convince them. [Wink]

1. If you had 3 wishes, what would you wish for?

Some amount of money, some fixes for some of the more annoying age-related stuff Diane and I are dealing with (that makes two - one for her and one for me.)

2. If you could talk to anyone, past or present, who, and why?

There are an awful lot of interesting people to choose from. Maybe Ben Franklin.

3. If you met someone from another planet, what 3 things would you show him/her/it first?

Infomercials, Reality shows, and Episode 1 of Star Wars. To convince him/her/it we aren't worth conquering or assimilating.

4. If you could trade places with anyone else in the world, who, and why?

I really can't think of anyone I want to trade with. I worked pretty hard to end up with the life I have.

5. If you could wake up in the morning with one new talent, skill, or ability, what?

State of the art web construction - I know it's learnable, but I don't have the time.

6. What would you like to be most famous for?

My work.

7. How much money would it take to get you to eat a plate full of worms?

What are you offering?

8. If you could plan the dream you will have tonight, what would it be about?

Something light, involving fun and adventures. Anything but work.

9. If you're reflection in the mirror talked back, what would it say?

"Sheesh, ever hear of making eye contact?"

10. If you could invent something (that hasn't been already), what would it be?

A teleportation device.

11. Where would you go if you could travel back in time?

Travelling with Lewis & Clark might be appealing.

12. You have to skip one meal every day. Which?

Breakfast. It's the one I skip now.

13. Invent a game in a pool filled with JELL-O.

I'm thinking a shuffleboard variation might work here...

14. If you could change one thing about your appearance, what would it be?

At the moment, my weight. I could stand to lose about 25 lbs. But since I could do that and I haven't, I must not want to change it all that much.

15. What's the greatest invention that hasn't been invented?

How do I know until it comes along?

16. Would you rather be 4 ft tall, or 8 ft tall?

Nature already made me much closer to the 4 ft mark than the 8 ft mark. So 4 ft would probably be more comfortable.

17. Would you rather be super-smart, or super-athletic?

I don't have any experience with being athletic, and limited experience with being smart - I'll stick with smart.

18. Would you rather be deaf, or blind?

In my case, deafness would probably be easier to adjust to than blindness, although I'd deal with either.

19. Would you volunteer to be on the first mission to Mars?

No.

20. Would you rather be really good-looking and dumb, or really ugly and smart?

Nature already kind of made this choice for me.

21. What's the bravest thing you ever did?

Probably my first protest I went to where civil disobedience and arrest were real possibilities.

22. What would you change your name to if you had to?

Don't know - I really haven't a clue.

23. Would you rather: read people's minds, be invisible, fly like a bird, or blow things up anywhere with your thoughts?

I think I'd go with reading thoughts. It could be really useful.

24. If you went 300 years in the past, could you prove you were from the future?

I'd probably only succeed in proving I'm annoying - a skill I've mastered in the present.

to be able to write good fiction.

I really don't know.

15. What's the greatest invention that hasn't been invented?

super-smart

Mute. So what if that wasn't one of the choices?

23. Would you rather: read people's minds, be invisible, fly like a bird, or blow things up anywhere with your thoughts?
I think flying edges out being invisible by just a little.

24. If you went 300 years in the past, could you prove you were from the future?
But I'm not from the future, I'm from the present. This question is flawed. [Razz]

It was entertaining enough. [Big Grin]

2)Spy on people. [Big Grin]
3)Look down people shirts really easy.
4)Threaten to blow up peoples houses if they don't go out with me.

I'm going with numero uno there.

24. If you went 300 years in the past, could you prove you were from the future?

1. If you had 3 wishes, what would you wish for?
I know you're supposed to say things like "happiness" but I think that I'm pretty much happy with my life except that I'd like more money. So I guess I'd wish for enough money to pay off my debts and then give the other two wishes to someone who needs them more. Or at least, that's what I say now. Who knows what I'd actually do in that situation?

2. If you could talk to anyone, past or present, who, and why?
I don't know what I'd talk about with some famous person, so I think I'd like to talk to my friend Raiden, because we always have awesome talks.

3. If you met someone from another planet, what 3 things would you show him/her/it first?
I guess the first things I'd show it would be my apartment, my apartment complex, and my car. That would get us on our way to seeing interesting stuff.

4. If you could trade places with anyone else in the world, who, and why?
Can't think of anyone.

5. If you could wake up in the morning with one new talent, skill, or ability, what?
I really wish I had the discipline to write my novels, but I wouldn't want to wake up one day with any new abilities. It'd feel like cheating.

6. What would you like to be most famous for?
I would love to be a famous novelist. Barring that, a famous columnist would be nice.

7. How much money would it take to get you to eat a plate full of worms?
I dunno. I mean, for $500 I'd give it a shot, but I don't know if I'd get through it. Probably even less than that.

8. If you could plan the dream you will have tonight, what would it be about?
You know, I'd like to say something cool and meaningful, but if I'm being honest, I probably have to say sex. (Is that too over the top?)

9. If you're reflection in the mirror talked back, what would it say?
"Dude, you can't wear white socks with that."

10. If you could invent something (that hasn't been already), what would it be?
Well, I'd love to invent something really useful, like a working fusion reactor, but I doubt that'd be possible for me. I think I'll stick to my current electronics projects instead, and hope they make me some money.

11. Where would you go if you could travel back in time?
About an hour ago, so I could enjoy that sandwich all over again.

12. You have to skip one meal every day. Which?
Breakfast, as I skip it anyway.

13. Invent a game in a pool filled with JELL-O.
This is not a question, really. Besides, why should I invent a Jello game when so many great ones already exist?

14. If you could change one thing about your appearance, what would it be?
What do I look like, a girl?

15. What's the greatest invention that hasn't been invented?
If it hasn't been invented yet, how the heck should I know?

16. Would you rather be 4 ft tall, or 8 ft tall?
Probably 8 feet tall. Because then I'd be in the NBA.

17. Would you rather be super-smart, or super-athletic?
Super smart. Even though that would mean I'd have no friends. [Smile]

18. Would you rather be deaf, or blind?
Tough call. I love music so I wouldn't want to give that up, but seeing the world and its beauty is something that is also important to me. I dunno, deaf, I guess. At least I'd be able to hear when someone is behind me.

19. Would you volunteer to be on the first mission to Mars?
No. I'd get horribly space-sick.

20. Would you rather be really good-looking and dumb, or really ugly and smart?
I'd be ugly and smart. And if it ever bugged me too much that I was ugly, I'd just get cosmetic surgery.

21. What's the bravest thing you ever did?
I can't think of a time when I ever felt particularly brave.

22. What would you change your name to if you had to?
Definitely not John Saxon. Nope.

23. Would you rather: read people's minds, be invisible, fly like a bird, or blow things up anywhere with your thoughts?
Um... None of these sounds particularly attractive to me.

24. If you went 300 years in the past, could you prove you were from the future?
I doubt it. Even if I were able to recreate some modern-day gadget, or recall some historical event, they'd probably just call me a witch and burn me at the stake.

1. I don't wish, I only hope.
2. My great grandfather, once again.
3. The New Testament, Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have A Dream" speech, my wife's smile.
4. The head clown with Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus.
5. Fine woodcarving.
6. For my writing.
7. Depends on if it's a cultural dish, then nothing for the chance to find out. If just a big ol' gross plate of worms a la Fear Factor, hmmm, $328,000 sounds about right.
8. My next novel idea.
9. Lemme outta here, lemme outta here!!!!
10. A soil rejuvenator for famine stricken areas of the world.
11. The Appalachian Mountains of NC around 1740.
12. Breakfast.
13. Wiggle Tag... heck I dunno.
14. My weight, downwards.
15. The cure for cancer.
16. 4-foot tall, definitely!
17. I'd rather be super-competent, but super-smart would be handy.
18. Deaf.
19. Yes, without a doubt.
20. I'm already ugly, but add smart to it if ya can!
21. Talking a drunk out of shooting another fellow at the boarding house I moved into after I graduated from high school. The drunk (who had mental problems) was certain the other guy was the one who had sent him to jail a long time ago. I still wonder if that was a boarding house or a half-way house. Either way, it's never fun looking down the barrel of a cheap, pawn shop pistol.
22. I like mine just fine.
23. Out of the list, invisible at will would be nice. Permanently invisibe, no thanks.
24. Who cares? All of my jokes would be new! What an audience!

1. The question to Life, the Universe, and Everything; a lifetime free pass to any theatrical movie I wanted; and a bigger bladder.

2. Herodotus. I'd ask him why he insisted on using the imperfect and the aorist in the same sentence to refer to the same things.

3. Grass, a book, and a movie.

4. I don't think I would; I'm pretty happy where I am.

5. Dude, telepathy would rock, provided I could control it. Especially during finals week...

6. Getting lost in a black hole.

7. $10. What can I say, I'm cheap.

8. <response edited for decency> Guess.

9. "F*** you too, mon ami!"

10. A good script for Episode III.

11. Ancient Egypt at the time of the Greek conquest.

12. Breakfast. I already do.

13. Find the soap. Wait, that's not a new game...

14. Feet. They are ugly.

15. Self-cleaning cars.

16. 8 ft tall.

17. Super-athletic, because I already am super-smart [Wink]

18. Deaf. I have horrible problems with bad things happening to eyes. Like in First Contact when Geordi's eye opens up to let the telescopic thingy come out, I wince. Or in 28 Days Later when the guy sticks his thumbs in the other guys' eyes, I can't watch.

19. Fo'sho'. In fact, I already have! Except not.

20. Good-looking and smart. But since that's not exactly an option, I'll go with really ugly and smart, because hey - I already am.

21. Switching schools in the move from second to fourth grade.

22. Elizabeth. To match my computer. [Technically her name is Lizzie, but close enough]

23. Be invisible.

24. If someone came from 300 years in the future and could "prove it," would you believe them? I wouldn't, and so I couldn't. Besides, I wouldn't want to. Part of the fun of time-travel (not that I'm speaking from experience or anything) is to blend in with the past and not to have people notice you're from the future.

1. If you had 3 wishes, what would you wish for?

A new house for my Mom, a contract to write books for me, and an end to terrorism. (And no, I've never been in a beauty pageant - I just really hate terrorism.)

2. If you could talk to anyone, past or present, who, and why?

Michelangelo. He was brilliant, and difficult, and he intrigues me.

3. If you met someone from another planet, what 3 things would you show him/her/it first?

The Grand Canyon, London, and Carlsbad Caverns.

4. If you could trade places with anyone else in the world, who, and why?

I honestly can't think of anyone else I'd like to be.

5. If you could wake up in the morning with one new talent, skill, or ability, what?

The ability to sing like Barbra Streisand. (Note, in relation to question # 4: I'd like to be able to sing like her, but I wouldn't want to be her.

6. What would you like to be most famous for?

Being an insightful writer.

7. How much money would it take to get you to eat a plate full of worms?

There is not that much money in the world. I'd never get through the whole plate anyway - weak stomach.

8. If you could plan the dream you will have tonight, what would it be about?

I wouldn't - most of the fun of dreaming is being surprised by your dreams.

9. If you're reflection in the mirror talked back, what would it say?

"Don't be so hard on yourself."

10. If you could invent something (that hasn't been already), what would it be?

Something like the holodeck in "Star Trek".

11. Where would you go if you could travel back in time?

Florence, Italy, during Michelangelo's lifetime. There was so much artistic and intellectual activity there at that time; it would amazing to see that.

12. You have to skip one meal every day. Which?

Dinner. I often do anyway.

13. Invent a game in a pool filled with JELL-O.

Eeewwwww.

14. If you could change one thing about your appearance, what would it be?

I would have a smaller, um, butt.

15. What's the greatest invention that hasn't been invented?

Didn't you already ask this? See Question # 10.

16. Would you rather be 4 ft tall, or 8 ft tall?

4 ft. tall. Makes it easier to hide.

17. Would you rather be super-smart, or super-athletic?

Super-smart.

18. Would you rather be deaf, or blind?

Blind. I could learn Braille and there are talking books. But I couldn't handle not being able to hear music again.

19. Would you volunteer to be on the first mission to Mars?

Heck, yeah. In fact, when I was a child I was convinced I would be the first human woman on Mars.

20. Would you rather be really good-looking and dumb, or really ugly and smart?

Really ugly and smart. No question. I know people who are really good-looking and dumb, and I wouldn't want to be them.

21. What's the bravest thing you ever did?

What, me brave? Seriously, probably going off to England only knowing two people in the whole country.

22. What would you change your name to if you had to?

I'd keep my middle name (which I've always really liked), but I'd get rid of my first name and maybe take Alison instead. Maybe. I don't know why - I've just always liked that name.

23. Would you rather: read people's minds, be invisible, fly like a bird, or blow things up anywhere with your thoughts?

Be invisible. People's minds are too messy for me to want to be able to read them, but if I were invisible I could find out all kinds of good stuff. I don't have any desire to blow things up, and flying like a bird just doesn't intrigue me that much - and anyway, I do that in my dreams fairly regularly.

24. If you went 300 years in the past, could you prove you were from the future?

Don't think so, and I wouldn't want to anyway. The game would be to see if I could blend in.

Yes.
20. Would you rather be really good-looking and dumb, or really ugly and smart?

Nope. Probably not.

1. If you had 3 wishes, what would you wish for?
I've already gotten most of my wishes, and those that I haven't I'd rather work for than just get.

2. If you could talk to anyone, past or present, who, and why?
Annie, I don't think I need to explain. [Big Grin]

3. If you met someone from another planet, what 3 things would you show him/her/it first?
I'm assuming here that they came here so they are already technologically advanced enough as to be unimpressed with ours. Perhaps Koyaanisqatsi, a university or office place and a happy family.

4. If you could trade places with anyone else in the world, who, and why?
Me is good.

5. If you could wake up in the morning with one new talent, skill, or ability, what?
Shift the speed of time (as described in Treason).

6. What would you like to be most famous for?
I'd rather not be famous.

7. How much money would it take to get you to eat a plate full of worms?
Why do people always assume that they can put a price on me doing stupid things to my body?

8. If you could plan the dream you will have tonight, what would it be about?
Once again, Annie. [Big Grin]

9. If you're reflection in the mirror talked back, what would it say?
Why did I have to get stuck looking like you?

10. If you could invent something (that hasn't been already), what would it be?
Cold Fussion, I get rich and it's a boon to mankind. [Smile]

11. Where would you go if you could travel back in time?
If I could only go back? I don't want to go back in time, I'm to attached to the current level of technology.

12. You have to skip one meal every day. Which?
Certainly breakfast since that would mean more time for sleep.

13. Invent a game in a pool filled with JELL-O.
I'm not sure of the specific rules but it would definitly involve tunnels.

14. If you could change one thing about your appearance, what would it be?
I'd have some sort of semblance of good looks.

15. What's the greatest invention that hasn't been invented?
Cold fussion or full blowen nano-technology, buty I don't think that really counts as a single invention. Of course cold fussion really isn't an invention either so much as a discovery but close enough.

16. Would you rather be 4 ft tall, or 8 ft tall?
4', I don't like being taller than people, or much taller anyways.

17. Would you rather be super-smart, or super-athletic?
Super-smart, how far can being in good shape get you in life?

Deaf, no question. I love music but I interact with the world through visual images.

Depends on what they would have me do once I got there (and of course, who could come with me, nudge nudge [Big Grin] ).

20. Would you rather be really good-looking and dumb, or really ugly and smart?
Smart. The people I care about could see past the ugly and the good looks. [Smile]

21. What's the bravest thing you ever did?
I have not the foggiest.

22. What would you change your name to if you had to?
Hobbes.

23. Would you rather: read people's minds, be invisible, fly like a bird, or blow things up anywhere with your thoughts?
Probably fly, more effecient transportation, all the rest seems a bit inpractical.

24. If you went 300 years in the past, could you prove you were from the future?
Well maybe not concleusivley, but there would certainly be a few things I could do that would surprise them. Though those things would all be pretty insignificant.

Read people's minds, definately.

24. If you went 300 years in the past, could you prove you were from the future?

Without being burned as a witch? Nope.

1. If you had 3 wishes, what would you wish for?

I would wish for my Mom and her new husband to be able to live in the same state as me and still be able to make a living, I would wish to be married happily already, and I would probably wish for the ability to make a living doing crafts.

2. If you could talk to anyone, past or present, who, and why?

I would talk to my Great-Grandmother Dulcie. My Dad's memory of her is not that great anymore, and she seemed like an interesting woman from what I've heard. She was a school-house teacher in Missouri, and in Oklahoma back in the early 1900's, and was actually Dutch.

3. If you met someone from another planet, what 3 things would you show him/her/it first?

Pepperoni pizza. I'm too tired to think of anything else to show it.

4. If you could trade places with anyone else in the world, who, and why?

I would trade places with...nobody. I like myself and am rather enjoying the experience of being myself.

5. If you could wake up in the morning with one new talent, skill, or ability, what?

I would wake up with the skill to draw. I've always wanted to, and never been able to, no matter what my fiancee says.

6. What would you like to be most famous for?

Being a pro-activist for religious tolerance.

7. How much money would it take to get you to eat a plate full of worms?

Approx. 2.4 billion dollars

8. If you could plan the dream you will have tonight, what would it be about?

I dream too often, and about a wide variety of things. If I had a choice, I would not dream at all.

9. If you're reflection in the mirror talked back, what would it say?

Get to work, Cassa! You're late again!

10. If you could invent something (that hasn't been already), what would it be?

A paper and pen set that would automatically correct your spelling if you wrote a word incorrectly.

11. Where would you go if you could travel back in time?

Paris, Victorian era.

12. You have to skip one meal every day. Which?

I usually skip breakfast anyway.

13. Invent a game in a pool filled with JELL-O.

No.

14. If you could change one thing about your appearance, what would it be?

I like the way I look. But thanks anyway.

15. What's the greatest invention that hasn't been invented?

Hasn't this already been asked in a different form? I thought that these questions were supposed to make you think about things.

16. Would you rather be 4 ft tall, or 8 ft tall?

8 feet tall, because I'm not that far from being 4 ft. tall.

17. Would you rather be super-smart, or super-athletic?

Um...I believe the proper term is intelligent.

18. Would you rather be deaf, or blind?

Deaf, because then I'd be able to see my fiancee's shoes in the middle of the floor waiting for me to trip over them.

19. Would you volunteer to be on the first mission to Mars?

Nope.

20. Would you rather be really good-looking and dumb, or really ugly and smart?

Since I don't care too much about how I look to begin with, it wouldn't matter to me if I was really ugly and smart.

21. What's the bravest thing you ever did?

Got revenge on a back-stabbing fiend who had given me a letter meant to make me upset. She was waiting with another of her friends to watch my reaction. I had just gotten my photos from camp that we'd been to that summer, and look, here's on of her in her underwear. I got up, took the picture, and showed it to nearly everyone in the cafeteria, table by table, as she watched in horror.

22. What would you change your name to if you had to?

Jane Smith

23. Would you rather: read people's minds, be invisible, fly like a bird, or blow things up anywhere with your thoughts?

I would rather read people's thoughts.

24. If you went 300 years in the past, could you prove you were from the future?

Probably not.

3 wishes:

The power of unassisted flight, the power to heal any wound, and the power to shoot force beams from my hands.

Everything else I figure I can do or acquire without help from wishing.

Person from the past:

Adam-- so I can put all my doubts about the literalness of the Creation story to rest.

3. If you met someone from another planet, what 3 things would you show him/her/it first?

a. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORDS THAT ARE COMING Out OF MY MOUTH?

b. WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH THAT FUNKY RAY-GUN?

c. WHEN YOU RULE THE WORLD, CAN I BE SECOND IN COMMAND?

4. If you could trade places with anyone else in the world, who, and why?

Celia. So I can be utterly, exclusively evil.

5. If you could wake up in the morning with one new talent, skill, or ability, what?

Let's see. . . I've already got powers of flight, healing, and cool force-beams. What else is there?

I know! Invisibility.

My prestige cost for Freedom Force is like 9 bazillion. . .

6. What would you like to be most famous for?

Being an exceptional father.

7. How much money would it take to get you to eat a plate full of worms?

About $50. Less if I get to eat a baby with them.

8. If you could plan the dream you will have tonight, what would it be about?

For shame! This is a family website! [Big Grin]

9. If you're reflection in the mirror talked back, what would it say?

RUN AWAY, RUN AWAY!

10. If you could invent something (that hasn't been already), what would it be?

A cheap, small, virtual reality interface that made for real, Otherworld-type- VR.

11. Where would you go if you could travel back in time?

Marquez, Texas July 1988.

12. You have to skip one meal every day. Which?

:snort: Just one? Lunch.

13. Invent a game in a pool filled with JELL-O.

No invention needed. Seriously-- invention in this case would just get in the way.

14. If you could change one thing about your appearance, what would it be?

I would be ripped beyond belief.

15. What's the greatest invention that hasn't been invented?

It HAS been invented. The government just doesn't want you to know about it yet.

16. Would you rather be 4 ft tall, or 8 ft tall?

Four feet. Short people get away with more.

17. Would you rather be super-smart, or super-athletic?

I already am super smart, so I'll take athleticism.

18. Would you rather be deaf, or blind?

Mute.

19. Would you volunteer to be on the first mission to Mars?

No. Like Robert Frost said, "Earth's the right place for love: I don't know where it's likely to go better."

20. Would you rather be really good-looking and dumb, or really ugly and smart?

Really good looking and dumb.

21. What's the bravest thing you ever did?

I don't think I've ever been brave.

22. What would you change your name to if you had to?

Lorenzo.

23. Would you rather: read people's minds, be invisible, fly like a bird, or blow things up anywhere with your thoughts?

Blow things up.

24. If you went 300 years in the past, could you prove you were from the future?

No-- they'd probably burn me at the stake if I tried.
