(sorry Rhaegar, I love you but I just couldn't help doing this dobie (((((Rhaegar))))) )
I think Maneshewitz is the best wine. Probably because it tastes a lot like grape juice; I don't like most wines.

The only beer I've had is Samuel Adams. I didn't like it, but maybe I'd like other kinds. Ever had Rock 'n Rye? That stuff is like 45% alchohol. Meneshewitz is about 14, and NyQuil is 11 I think.

First of all, GAH!! >_< It's not so much that Manishevitz wine is all bad -- it's not. Their cream white and other light wines are lovely. It's the "traditional" one that tastes like cough syrup that I dislike. And I like sweet wines. Just not syrupy ones. *shudders*

Eruve, I hate to be this way, but I think I might need to whistle this if you don't want to delete all reference to illegal activities. You know I love you and all, even if I have sometimes wondered if you are an undercover cop.
Edit to add: I would only whistle it on the assumption that whistling doesn't assume the post will be deleted, just that it will be brought to the attention of the mods. We talk about a lot of illegal stuff on this board. This just trips my weird stuff-o-meter.

Are you serious? You want me to delete this? I don't pick up on sarcasm very well. It's not like I drink a lot. I said I don't like alcoholic beverages, I just have access if I do want it.

If not, may I point out that there are many legal ways for minor to obtain alcohol? Such as being served by their parents?

well, as long as that's clear. I wasn't kidding, though I did put some humor on the end. In fact I have a friend who really liked some kind of sweet kosher wine and was given some before she was 21. edit: If you were an undercover cop, you could conceivably be trying to ferret out playful illegality on the board.
Still, it seems odd you don't know what Fresca is. But it may be a western thing.

Maybe. We usually get off-brands of soda. I would have known what what you meant if you called it nee-hi, though.

It is not at all illegal for a minor to drink alcohol served to them by their parents, guardians, or an adult that their parent has given permission to.
It is illegal for a minor to obtain alcohol without parental permission.

Fresca is a Coca Cola product. Or maybe they bought it the way they did Barq's (root beer).
It's okay, we don't have mallomars out here. Hey, my whole associatioin with hatrack would be redeemed if someone could help me score some mallomars for my husband.

You don't know how many times klutzy Annie has spilled sacrament water on her skirt and been everlastingly grateful it wasn't wine.

Heh, yeah, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a Jewish kid who hasn't been served alcohol legally. And this is a thread about Maneschewitz, for Pete's sake.
I found a kosher Riesling in an organic supermarket this weekend... I'm kicking myself for not picking it up and storing it until our next Seder or something. I have a really funny beer I picked up in Virginia this summer that I'm saving for Hanukkah... it's called "The Chosen Ale" and continues the pun throughout the label. I don't remember if it's kosher or not. It was from a whole series of beers with biblical references. Great stuff.

Eruve please tell me you do not drink NyQuil for the taste. Actually, please tell me you do not drink NyQuil at all; that stuff is horrible.

I'd never heard of Fresca. But I'm an east coaster and grape soda is fairly uncommon after the age of six. Don't know why, though. It's good.

Ayelar, kosher Riesling? *drools* Must be this one. Yum. Oh, lookit that! I didn't know there were so many kosher Rieslings! Like this one or this . . . mmmmmm!
Do you mean this beer? They're CA products, definitely kosher, and I hear fairly good, if you like beer.

Danzig, I drink it when I have a cold (or when I desperately need to sleep and can't). It does taste kinda bad, but I don't care. Now Pepto Bismol....Yuck!

It might have been the Herzog I saw in the store... it was a simple white label. Looked interesting! I bet organic stores are good places to pick up decent kosher wine, actually.... *muses*

If it is the Herzog Riesling, definitely buy it. Most of their wines are good to wonderful; that one has been divine every year I've tasted.
And yeah, health food-type stores are great places to pick up a few varieties of kosher wine, Baron Herzog among them.
