I finally got my dog moved in to her new house. So far, she's enjoying the fenced backyard and the two neighbor dogs pretty well. She's not too sure about the blinking Christmas decorations or the fireplace, but other than that, she seems to be settling in okay.
My friend came by over the weekend and installed the doggy door. What a nice guy! Everyone should know a friend like this. He can't sit still and he has every power tool known to man. Plus he knows how to use them. It's hard stopping him from doing work. What can I say, but THANKS!
The dog took about two tries to realize this doggy door is just like her old one only bigger and it leads OUTSIDE!!!
She didn't like listening to Peter Gabriel on the way home, but I think that might've been because I was singing along at the top of my lungs. And she didn't want other dogs to know she was with me.

I'm relieved that my thought about the title was mistaken. I said, "Uh-oh! I didn't hear about any fires in Texas!"
Glad to be wrong. Glad Smokey likes her new digs. Glad to see that Bob is behaving as every good parent should -- embarrassing their kids half to death.

Dead_Horse: Yeah, actually, this guy installed the whole door, then put in the doggie door. He probably would've just left the door off completely and let the bear walk in and out.

Hey, cool! I went on a lovely date once with a very good vet in College Station, if you want a reference.

I'm just relieved Smokey wasn't named due to an experiment involving dog fur and lighter fluid, or to the practice of feeding puppies on Bob's famous 8 Alarm all bean chilli.

kat: Yes, I need a vet! Please let me know. Can I ask him about your date? And what kind of date was it if one of the things you came away knowing is that he's a "good" vet?

My first thought was, I thought the bear died of old age in a zoo in Washington State, how can he be in Texas? What has Bob concocted this time?
I'm glad you have your furry fourlegged friend with you. Dogs are great to have around.

Congrats on your housemate, Bob! I would hate to be without my dogs for very long, and am glad that your Smokey made the adjustment well.

My apartment building here in Dallas caught on fire last week. Came home to a pile of rubbish in my parking spot.
My place is fine - it was on the other side of the wall. Everything stinks like smoke, though - this is putting serious crimps in my Christmas partyhousewarming plans. I don't know whether to still do it and just ask forgiveness for the barbequed plaster smell or not.
