I havent seen you post in a while so I hope you still look at this board.
A while back we got into a big debate about drug use and its effects. Well recently my friends brother was talking about wanting to try pot and she wanted to see information on its side effects. I remembered the sites you had links for were particularly informative and made me realize how wrong I was. By any chance do you still have the links for those web sites? A search for our discussion didnt turn up anything. Thanks alot, and if anyone else has good information on that sort of thing feel free to post it. I looked up some web pages but they werent anywhere near as good as what Leto had previously posted.

You'll probably have better luck getting ahold of John on his forum over at www.grenme.com.Www.sakeriver.com's forums wouldn't be a bad place to reach him either.

Hiya, Promethius. This is the poster formerly known as Leto, and Hobbes was kind enough to wave me down and point me in this direction. I'm not home, so a great deal of my sources are not readily available, but I have managed to find some of my sources from previous "engagements."
Here are links with quick, "Readers Digest" run-downs:
New Scientist Marijuana Link—this is mainly the intro page to their marijuana section, which happens to have articles on both the good points and bad points about marijuana. It covers a good deal of facts about marijuana, including its effects on the lungs and reflexes, not just the brain. The most notable ones are the ones on the effects on memory and psychological addiction and the triggering of "withdrawl" symptoms. (it is worth noting that those are triggered through unconscious means, and sre psychological in nature, not chemically)
Here is a report about the long-term effects of marijuana on the brain, taken from the National Institute of Health.
Right here is a good list of databases to look through for some statistics on the dangers of consistent drug use, including the effects on family members on regular drug users (a little-discussed topic).
From the U.S. Sentencing Commission, this is a nice layout of sentencing by drug charges, which shows about 45% of the convictions in 2001 were drug trafficking offenses, because many people try to sell the line that "Joe Toker" is the person being "held down by the Man" as a gripe against marijuana being illegal. Also, This link shows average sentencing for marijuana convictions. Here is a list of reported drug admissions that shows about 4.5% for the year total.
This link here may or may not be helpful, though it admittedly seems more tailored for the younger (early teens) crowd now, though it used to be a little more "clinical" in its approach. Beginning page if you're interested.
Another site aimed toward a younger audience. This one has a decent list of frequent questions, though.
Well, I don't really have access to any of my other links or resources nearby. Hopefully, the little I had available here are useful.

You know, somehow the title of this thread sounds to me like it should be the title of a song in a big Hatrack musical.
Hmmm...a Hatrack musical. There'd have to be a homosexuality song, and probably a "Bush is great-No he sucks" number, with two different groups singing the the arguing voices.
