Dam, you go, girl. I'm impressed enough to refrain from asking why you placed only fifth -- after all, the contest was held in the South. I'm quite the paragon of self-control.
But no, honestly, dude, I'm impressed. Bob has one hell of a Padawan.

And look, I'll misspell a word while commenting on how dumb the South is. Ha ha! I'm sure good with that intentional irony there, ha ha!

And I placed ONLY fifth probably for two reasons-one, I had only gotten my speech approved the day before I had to give it-meaning I had one evening in which to memorize a five page speech, and two-I was the last speaker, so I got incredibly nervous while listening to everyone else make slight mess-ups during finals and screwed up in the final round because i got so nervous But I can improve, with practice, and stop getting so nervous.

Toretha, congratulations! Really all I did was point to a resource. I'm glad it was helpful and more importantly, I'm glad you did so well with it.
I present in front of large crowds all the time. When I was in college (and earlier, of course) I was so painfully shy that doing that would've sent me to the ER after passing out from hyperventilation. In other words, it sounds like you are way ahead of the game!!!
Congrats! And have fun!
Oh, and you're very welcome for whatever assistance I was in this.
