I do not know how, and I do not know why, but I have found a back door out of my company's intranet. I have clawed out of the oppressive darkness that has smothered me for the last year, and hopefully, this window will not close for at least a while. (The last one I found lasted about 2 weeks.)
But life is good while I am free again.
And the short version of the story is that I owe it all to Joon. Too bad we close in 15 minutes, but I will try to say more later.

I know why you're here, Alucard. I know what you've been doing... why you hardly sleep, why you live alone, and why night after night, you sit by your computer. You're looking for him. I know because I was once looking for the same thing. And when he found me, he told me I wasn't really looking for him. I was looking for an answer. It's the question, Alucard. It's the question that drives us. It's the question that brought you here. You know the question, just as I did.
Careful, Alucard. We have some sysadmins on the forum who get irritated when people don't respect their fellow admins' authoriteh. Who knows what they might do?

You have a problem with authority, Mr. Alucard.
It seems that you've been living two lives. One life, you're a program writer for a respectable software company. You have a social security number, pay your taxes, and you...help your landlady carry out her garbage. The other life is lived in computers, where you go by the hacker alias "Alucard" and are guilty of virtually every computer crime we have a law for. One of these lives has a future, and one of them does not."

Obviously, taking out the garbage will result in fatal back strain. No future with a dead back.
