by the way, is there a boy scout out there from the original troop? Maybe just turning 100 this year or something?

My dad's boy scout troop (the one he led, not was in) turned 50, or something round like that, a couple of years ago. The orginal boy scout troop may still be in existance, since they just carry it over from one leader to another, one group of kids to another. Of course, that would mean the original meeting place would still have to be in existance. My dad's troop was actually older than that, but they had moved their meeting place up the road at one point, and then returned, and each time they moved the count restarted.

I think the boys in the first troop were a bit older than six... 11-14 would be my guess without looking it up. Boys younger than 11 / 5th grade are in Cub Scouts, which was not part of the Boy Scouts at first.
