So why does bottled water have an expiration date?
Linky
As it turns out, it's all New Jersey's fault!

Drat, still doesn't work.

Edit:
If I didn't say it, someone else would have.

This year, for the first time, Americans are expected to buy more bottled water than beer or coffee.
Where are your priorities, America?

Most beers are cheaper than most bottled water, so it can't possibly have the social status value.

BTW - Bottled spring, glacial melt, and mineral waters are FAR more likely to be contaminated with bacteria than tapwater. As well as contain far higher levels of pollutants such as dioxins, PCBs, etc.
And the longer any water sits in a plastic container, the more phthalates and unreacted/unchained plastic monomers leach out of the plastic and into the water.

We had one of those water softner salesman come by our house and do a "test" so he could show us how "contaminated" our tap water was.

It was fun pointing out all the ways he was wrong.

We do buy bottled water because it tastes better than Orlando tap water. But I just take the gallon jugs and fill them up in those water machines outside the grocery stores for 30 cents a gallon.
