I can't believe I just read this thread and I already forgot what it was about. Well, as you may recall I was ambivalent about JoA, but since the SuperBowl I'm boycotting CBS.

Uhh...if you're going to boycott for the 'nipple incident', I think you'd be better off Boycotting MTV, Timberlake, and Jackson. CBS didn't know anything about it, and has been openly condemning the incident.
Have you READ any of the reports about it at all? Or haven't they reached pooktopia yet?

Well, it didn't really involve much to boycott all those others. Really, I'd only tuned into Joan once. As it happens, not much news from Earth does reach pooktopia as I don't really watch TV.

Hi, my name is fiazko, and I'm a Joan-a-holic.
The scary part is, it was my smoker, drinker, ex-pothead, curses-like-a-sailor-friend that got me (grew up in the church, went to a Christian college, blah-di-blah) watching it as opposed to the other way around.
We watch it together at her place every week since that channel doesn't in for me. I've been very impressed thus far.

CBS hired MTV and aired the show. CBS and MTV are owned by the same company. The type of person likely offended by the halftime show does not likely watch MTV. Boycotting CBS seems like a good idea to me if you care about the issue.

But the issue has already been resolved! There's been apologies, the people who were responsible fessed up and apologized as well. What more do you want? Besides, I think Joan of Arcadia is actually the most moral, most moral and truthful show on television today. I'm sorry if you choose to miss it based on one single incident that the NETWORK did not want to happen.

Actually, I don't care - it didn't bother me enough to boycott. But if it did bother me, their "apology" wouldn't make me feel any better.
I have a hard time dismissing someone for making a principled stand.
Dagonee P.S., I'm not overly fond of the show, either. Assuming "You're the one who made us ashamed of being naked!" is said to God, it shows such a blatant misunderstanding the story of the Fall that it has little to offer me there.

I've never watched the show, but my parents like it. Dagonee, do you really think she said that because she didn't understand the Fall? She was just flying off the handle with her words in anger, nothing more.

Taking into context that it was shouted out by a frazzled teenage girl who had just gotten a photograph taken of her in her skivvies in the locker room floating around school, and that the girl had no background in theology, I found it kinda funny
