Beautiful. If you absolutely must prank someone, that's how you do it.
But in terms of rivalry between engineering focused university, moving a cannon cross country was a good showing.

Omigod. That is the funniest site I've ever seen. I can't wait to get home and be able to watch the Mathematical Pi video, but the penny and the sugar cubes (teeth, I mean), and the rest of it... uproarious.

Okay, these pranks are funny, but there are people either on my floor or from the house next door who play really irritating pranks.
I found tuna in the light. A lot of tuna, stacked on the plastic underneath the light (not the heat-emitting kind, thankfully or we might have had a fire from the paper the tuna was wrapped in). Evidently, someone had put it there, intending for no one to notice and then for the tuna to go off and smell. Ha ha, I think not.
I found it shortly after it had been planted and removed it. In my time I have cleaned up beer from around the sink (no doubt intended to be seen as 'urine'- the washroom stank of beer for a couple of days it was disgusting), but I drew the line at chocolate ice cream on the toilet seat and in the toilet bowl. I flushed it, that was it.
To be fair, the last two tricks were supposed to be April Fools Day tricks, and that would have been okay, had the pranksters cleaned up after, but instead we were left with an unusable toilet until the poor cleaning lady had to do it. What a shame.
Pranks should be clean and funny.

These are hilarious! I've always loved the MIT pranks, like the time they got a cop car on the roof of one of their buildings. Or was it a cow? I can't quite remember, but it was still funny. Those engineering kids are quite a hoot.

Deja vu. There is a cube exactly like this on campus here in Ann Arbor. And last summer, my roommate and some of her friends turned it into a Rubix cube. I'm going to have to ask her were she got the idea from.

My high school has a great rivalry with another high school, and we played lots o' pranks on each other. My favorite was when the other high school put an ad in the local papers which said [My High School] for Sale, with the number to our main line under it.

My senior year in high school, some of my classmates grabbed "for sale" signs from around town and placed them strategically in front of the high school. A photo of that was in the yearbook.

The Rubik's Cube almost looked too nice for a prank---better than the original cube.
Also, did Yale actually succeed in getting Harvard to spell out "We Suck," or was that photo just a rendering of what it would look like? If Yale did it, I wonder how; wouldn't somebody have noticed that the seats weren't marked to spell out "Go Harvard"?

There's actually a museum in Boston with relics of former pranks (MIT students refer to these as 'hacks'), including, as a previous poster alluded to, the faked up campus police car they got on top of the dome of a building. Another of my favorites involves the replacement of an inscription inside of a building. The sign formerly read "Established for Advancement and Development of Science its Application to Industry the Arts Agriculture and Commerce. Charter MDCCCLXI," but was changed to read "Established for Advancement and Development of Science its Application to Industry the Entertainment and Hacking . Charter MDCCCLXI." Apparently the hack was so subtle that the perpetrator's were discovered as they were finishing up, but the actual content of the hack wasn't realized until months afterward. Some of the guys from my High School (this was years ago now) went to our rival school and buried their rock. You know the one, all high schools have them now, their covered in paint. The best part was that they has dummied up work orders and the principal of the school got the janitor to help them do it.

I just asked my roommate about her Rubix cube. Apparently, her friend got the idea from that website. The cube on campus is an exact replica of the one in NY (or the other way around, I don't know).
