I just finished the final piece of Robin Hobb's Fool's trilogy. What a great finish to a wonderful nine books.

I really just wanted to post and tell everyone how much I love this woman's work. And how greatful I am for OSC introducing me to her through his review column. Just another example of how much Mr. Card has meant to my reading life. First he gave me Ender's Game which hooked me in the seventh grade to reading of all kinds then he gives me this wonderful writer who is in my opinion one of the greatest creative minds I have had the oportunity to read in a great long time.

I beg those of you who have not read Robin Hobb yet to do so and I suggest you do it in order. She has written three seperate trilogies yet they all are related and share a very intreseting commen thread (which I will not reveal becaus eit is not immediately obvious). The final book really answers a lot of questions and ties the three trilogies together in a wonderful way.

I know I'm not much of a review writter but don't let that keep you from picking up Assasins Aprentice. I know once you start you will happily plow through all nine books as quickly as I have.

I LOVE Robin Hobb!

Does anyone know if she's planning on continuing the series?

I'm not sure. Things were really nicely wrapped up in Fool's Fate. So it seems as if that story is definately over, there really isn't much left there but I'm hopefull we'll see something new.

She has written a number of books as Meghan Lindholm. I haven't read any of them but OSC told me that The Wizard of Pidgeons is an excelent read. For what ever reason I have had a hard time finding her novels as Lindholm.

Yeah, I've read The Wizard of the Pigeons. It's good but very different from her Hobb work. Still amazing though.

I was satisfied with the conclusion of the tawny man trilogy, but not blown away.

From what I've heard, Hobb is working on a brand-spanking new project right now, set in a completely different world.

Last book is out? *plans to head to bookstore on the way home from work*

Another author I've recently gotten into and enjoyed reading immensely is Peter Hamilton. Hard core SF -- really interesting worlds he's developed, very imaginitive technologies, and a nice blending of biotech with "regular" tech in some of them too. Good stuff.

I love her work too ! I finished the book one of "Ship of Magic" one month ago (took a little time because in original version) and I adore it ! I love the fool trilogy too but I read it in French (not enough money so have to find the books at the library and they have quasi-nothing in English except Jane Austen)

I loved the Assassins trilogy and the Farships Trilogy was awesome - really different & quite unique. I enjoyed the Tawny Man trilogy too - but not as much as the others - it just didn't grab me the way the others had somehow.

I love the Farseer books! I am on Fool's Fate now. I get so into these books I start to dream about them. I plan to start reading her Lindholm stuff when I am done. If you are having trouble finding them, try abebooks.com. It's a hookup to about a zillion used bookstores. It's very cool!
