I think the last thing I wanted this much was a ColecoVision, back when I was 11 or so. Of course, I never did get that ColecoVision, so maybe my chances aren't so good.

I just wanted you to know, Noemon, that even the times I don't respond to your threads, I almost always end up sending those links onto my oldest son at college. Most everything you pull up is so interesting -- and just the kind of thing he likes.
I think he is beginning to think we need a subscription to New Scientist.

Thanks Farmgirl! New Scientist is by far my favorite of all the magazines I've ever subscribed to. The print edition is even better than the online version, and because it's a weekly, you never have to wait very long for the next issue after you've finished the current one. It's a little pricy, but you can often get a deal that allows you to get it for about a dollar an issue, which isn't bad.

What's interesting to me is that I've heard of (though I haven't read them) several studies that showed that strength-enhancing exoskeletons were pretty much impossible, that the human body is "designed" to work with an endoskeleton and just isn't compatible with an exoskeleton. I think it had something to do with the body bein unable to deal with the kinds of shock it would receive. Although, I think the studies I've heard of were geared toward exoskeletons that would enhance things like jumping, which is going to produce significantly more shock than carrying.

Well, it's not really, but a lot less people go there than go here.
I'm 32, by the way; a lot of people have remarked on my looking young in that picture, which kind of surprised me. Maybe it's because you can't see my bald spot in that shot? Usually, when I'm out with my wife, people think that I'm a cradle robbing pervert. She's 34, but at the high school where she teaches, people who don't know her have mistaken her for a high school student. I find that a bit odd, actually; she looks like she's in her mid-20s to me.
