A local radio station for me (I live in D.C.), Z104, is having a contest tomorrow morning. Basically, if you get a celebrity to call in and do an interview during the Haber and Erin show (5:30-9:30am EST), and they think the celebrity you got to call in is the coolest (judged on how famous, how hard to get an interview with them, and how good their interview was), then you win backstage passes to go to Sting's concert at the Warner Theatre tomorrow night, as well as meet Sting himself.

I asked OSC if he would call in for me.

He said yes!

*Jumps up and down excitedly!*

For those of you who are up early, if you go to http://www.moremusic104.com/ , they have the option of listening to their station live over the web. OSC said he'd probably call between 8 and 9, though he wasn't sure.

I'm going to try and tape the show using my boombox with a tape. Also, Josh/Zevlag is going to try and record the show over the computer tomorrow morning.

*Jumps up and down again*

Aaaaah!

Must calm down. Must calm down.

Aaaaah!

That is thoroughly fantastic.

Here are a couple of reasons he is my hero:

I believe his writing has brought more good into this world.

And I hear rumors that he is a good father and husband. Though writing allows one to stay home, I think the disconnect makes it particularly more difficult to come back down to earth and be a good parent. But it is necessary, and the rewards are definately worth it. OSC taught me that.

OSC is my hero for too many reasons to number here, and many of which will probably be stated by others anyway.

But not all of 'em.

Noah, that's awesome!! I'm so impresseed. And jealous.

And OSC is DEFINTELY one of my heroes, for many reasons. I admire the magnanimity, the fearlessness, the vision, and his facility with his family.

I remember thinking when I met him and Geoff at the signing in Utah that he must be simply wonderful, because his adult son obviously worshipped the ground he walked on.

*is listening now*

I wasn't able to get any signal (I'm listening online at school, and they block installation of programs, i.e. i cant record the internet version), but Josh said he's recording it.

Carmen Elektra wasn't part of the contest. The 104 people themselves had her scheduled to call in.

Wow!

I think I might fake having a radio program so I can have OSC call me.

What kind of a name is Haber? [Wink]

edit: Oh my gosh...the first thing I heard was "The hardest thing you should have to worry about this spring break is what bikini to wear."

And they play that South Moon Under commercial (about the bikinis) and stuff like that during normal commercial breaks, because of some legal issue.

PSI, that is a commercial that is played at the beginning of every web connection...

I have the entire thing recorded. About 150MB mp3, I will stop about 9:45... (20 minutes) Not sure if OSC is there or not... Haven't been up to listen to it.

That Irish song just cracked me up to no end.

Also, I'm kind of amazed that Carmen Elektra just said that she lived with her fiance a year before she was married, so they worked out "all the little kinks" before hand.

???????

"All the little kinks"? Her marriage should be exciting.

It would be great if OSC called the Irish Song line number, too.

I just listened to the recap before they announced the winner, but they didn't mention OSC. Perhaps they hadn't heard of him? The radio personalities sound pretty stupid and not exactly well read.

And to have a couple local newspersons be the winning call?

Whatever. I just wish I hadn't listened to crumby music for an hour [Wink] .

Noah -- just so you know, Scott did call. But the only option he had was to just leave a recording of who he was, etc. So anybody could have called and claimed to be anybody! Anyway, he tried. Probably there are a lot bigger celebs out there anyway who have friends in your area [Smile]

OSC is so cool. But I've heard that show before (it's at the bottom of my "Isn't there anything on besides commercials" set of radio presets) - I doubt the audience would have appreciated it much. Or that the DJs were capable of having a real interview with him.

Two people I had never heard of being the celebrities who won it [Grumble] ...

Wow, there were two of them!

Um yeah, they are a news team. Getting one means that getting the other wouldn't be too hard.

I wonder if the TV station and the radio station are owned by the same company. I would bet dollars to dounts that they are.

I can't believe Doreen Gentzler and the other guy one. They're local news people here in D.C. I don't see how that's cool at all.

::grumbles::

Anyways, thanks SO much to OSC for trying for me. It means a ton.
