If God put Bush in Office, doesn't that mean he put Clinton in power? If Kerry beats Bush does that mean that God changed his mind?

I'm so confused.

This morning my alarm went off and it was some Texas Preacher talking about how God put Bush in office and we should steer clear of all the democratic candidates.

This was his Sunday sermon.

Amen?

The world is a better place with threads like this back in it, signed with a <T>.

Bless you, Thor.

Hatrackers rock and rule!
What a super family!

So if democrats hope for a failing economy (to make Bush look as impotent as his dad on the economy) do republicans wish for more terrorist attacks (so it'll look like we need the alpha war dudes a whole bunch)?

God hid lots of gold in the New World. The gold became, and remains an irresistible lure for the ocean-going nations of Europe. While the European nations looted the world and consolidated wealth and power, freedom-loving Christians got off the boat in the New World and brought the knowledge of God to the godless.

Time and time again it has been proven that a team with a great offense, but a weak defense, can win a lot of games but not do well in the playoffs. Last years chiefs and colts come to mind.

Oh, wait, isn't this a football thread? I only post in Thor's football threads.

Depends on how much you think the actions of God influence football teams.

I don't know that I would describe the folks who got off the boat as freedom-loving.

Religious, yes.

But they weren't really interested in religious freedom for anyone else.

God stocked the New World with an abundance of raw materials. God established the weather patterns and provided the fertile soil that allowed the agrarian economy to flourish.

Meanwhile, the rest of the world was plagued by disease, pestilence, blight, poverty, and famine. People from all over the world were and are naturally drawn to the Americas.

The relative abundance of sustenance and the mixing of various races, nationalities, and religions in the Americas eventually resulted in a people who were more peaceful and softhearted than those in the Old World, who were motivated by scarcity and fear.

And sometimes, the Europeans went and did both at the same time!

If God can create a civilization of softhearted, peaceful, nurturing, freedom-loving people in the New World simply by putting the raw materials in the right places and adjusting the weather; if God can create such a civilization in the face of all the gold and navies and armies of Europe in opposition, does God even care who the President of the United States is? Would God even bother to whisper in the Floridians’ ears as they enter their voting booths and punch their ballots?

I don't think God worries about the politics of particular countries. I think Bush is arrogant, delusional, or both.

If God put Bush in office, or at least approves of him being there, then I think he put all the presidents in office.

I mean, either he put them all there, or none of them. But that's just MO.

Wait—God created Canada? And to think, all it took was natural resources and bitter cold . . .

Vote for George Bush Because:

God put him in office.
If God put him in office it means God favors him.
If God favors him it means that he will spend eternity in Heaven.
If you dislike him, you are disliking God's chosen one.
If you dislike God's chosen one, you dislike God.
If you dislike God, you will not go to heaven.
Hence, vote for Bush will insure you won't have to spend Eternity with him.

God helped me win.
THat means God hates the rest of you.
Enjoy heck losers.
