I wanted to rip some CDs into MP3s today. I have re-installed windows XP since last time I did this, so I downloaded my favorite ripper, EAC. Unfortunately, EAC cannot see any CD drives on my computer to use.
So I resort to CDex, another ripper. I install it, and it also cannot find any CD drives.
I have a CD drive in the computer, and it works fine for music and data.
Any ideas what might be causing this?

Can you see your CD-ROM drive when you open 'My Computer'? Also, you stated that you can it continues to function correctly in regards to music and other data, do you mean that you can insert and audio CD and it will play correctly, and that you could insert an installation CD and it would autoplay and install correctly from the CD-ROM?
