in very brief, some things I've done in Hawaii, in the last 6 weeks:
Talked hours with an inteligent christian minister, rode on top of a car's trunk with and hitchhiked all night with a drunk drugged drug dealer, picked bananas, papaya's, sugar cane, a guava, starfruits, cocnuts eaten many kinds of fruit from farmer's market, hung around for many days with a hippie woodsman, done nude modeling for a (gay?) photgrapher, swam naked at a naked hippie beach, stayed at the house of an extremely beautiful woman, gone to a krishna thingamabob and ate pizza, saw a 60-80' lava jet from on foot at maybe 250 yards away, had my shoes ripped to heck by Pele, the volcano godess, got picked up by a bisexual guy while hitchiking who offered to perform oral sex on me in a rather push manner, hiked a "five hour" up and down hills/cliffs trail in 2:18, saw a green sand beach, ran/slid down a grade to it, swam there and learned to body surf without a board, jumped off about a 35' cliff + an 8' stand, twice, and then once off about a 45' cliff( ok, so technically it was into the ocean:), bragged about my experiences.

Good grief. There are none where I come from! and don't get me started. The bastard was a adolescent counselor- now that ticked me off!

Pretty city, some nice stuff to do. Lots of lovely beaches, great trips up north (hot, red dirt, spectacular gorges, coral reefs) or down south (cooler climate, greener, lots of vinyards and boutique wineries, great beaches, bluffs and if you go far enough, whales).
So you are coming to Australia? Which parts?

And on the other side of the continent from..... EVERYTHING!!!!!
Having said that, Perth is very pretty indeed. If you go, and they take you out, you must:
1) Have a beer at sunset at the Cotisloe Hotel 2) Go to Freemantle and drink a chilli or chocolate beer from the Sail & Anchor microbrewery.

Yes, definitely, and I haven't made much in the way of plans, but from the sound of it, Perth! it may take me a little while, cause I don't know exactly how I'm getting to australia, but I'll get there:) Imogen, could you possibly write me an e-mail if you'd seriously like to meet in perth, or I can send you one... I'm having a little trouble getting net access around here, so communication may be a little slow, but I'll try to get back to you with a little more specifics.
