Okay -- here's your chance to share what things in life you feel are MOST annoying -- almost unbearable.

I thought of this thread last night when the great annoyance came upon me:

A mosquito was somewhere in my room as I was trying to sleep. Buzzing around my head in the dark. Alighting where I knew not.

There has to be NOTHING as annoying as a mosquito in your room while you're trying to sleep. [Wall Bash]

See if you can top that for annoying.

Well, I'm not sure I can top that but trying to liberate one coffee filter from a compressed stack at 5:00 in the morning with reluctant fingers is pretty damn frustrating.

The kids on their motor scooters, racing up and down the street.

Little person at my elbow while I try to use the computer, whining, "Moooom, when can I play Warlord's Battlecry?"

Ebay Guy that outbid me at the last minute on the set of books I was getting my daughter for Christmas.

If it was buzzing, it means it was male and wouldn't bite you.

Problem is, the chick mosquitoes don't buzz and THEY'RE the bloodsuckers.

I think the most annoying thing in the world is people who bump a thread just so they can get it out of the way so that two other threads will make a funny thing to post in the Adjacent Thread Titles thread.

A Japanese mosquito, the tiny black and white striped kind, leaves a nasty exit wound. It's got an extra large barb on it's proboscis. Hurts much worse than even the helicopter-sized Alaskan variety.

Japanese mosquitos have got ninja skills too. Turn the lights on...no mosquitoes, lights out...

bzzzzzzzzzz.

I don't think that's true:

Search for "buzz" or "hum" on these pages if you don't find anything immediately.

Annoying: when someone corrects you on hatrack by posting URLs.

Also annoying: when the UBB url tag doesn't work.

What about the immortal mosquito?. You turn the light on and squash it. Phew! Gone! Lie down, turn off the light, lie down, drift off to sleep...

...eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...

SMACK! You miss. The light goes on again. You search and destroy. Turn off the light, lie down, drift off...

...eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...

SMACK! And repeat.

ALL NIGHT!

Annoying? Oh, that would be the woman in the restaurant where I ate dinner last night. My mom and I were sitting half-way across the room from her, but could hear every word she said in complaint against just about everyone in the world. I have to hand it to my mom, though. At one point the loud woman said that someone "knows exactly how I feel about that." And my mom said to me, very quietly, "And so does everyone else, apparently." Best laugh I had all day.

A Mosquito????

Psst...Farmgirl...I have a really *nice* husband here I'll trade you for the mosquito...

Today during Sunday School, the skin on my neck began to crawl.....No, SOMETHING was crawling up the back of my neck. *shudder* Without thinking, I grabbed it and flicked it off me. It landed between two guys on the row behind me. It was a Japanese beetle. One of them ATE it, and the other one persisted in lightly poking me in the neck with his writing utensil for the rest of the class time.

And, no, I am not in the youth class. Both guys are over 50. [Roll Eyes]

The most annoying thing is when you're trying to go to sleep at night, and your pillow gets hot, so then you have to flip it over, and that side gets hot before the other side gets a chance to cool down, so then you switch out the pillow with another one, which gets hot, so you flip it over, and that side gets hot before the other side gets a chance to cool down....

For me: trying to concentrate on something, only to be interrupted by the THUMPING BASS of someone driving through my neighborhood who has decided that EVERYONE wants to hear his (or her, I supppose) bass.

Note to all who do this: you may think you're being generous by sharing your "music," but some of us would truly love to HURT you when you do this.

I second that, Megan! Add to it people who screech their car tires at 3:00 in morning.

And of course, anybody and everybody under the age of 18. Occasionally, you'll find a minor who isn't annoying, but odds are, if there's one within twenty feet of you, you're going to be annoyed.

WHEN YOU SPEND SEVEN HOURS CREATING THIRTY DIFFERNT LITTLE GRAPHICS FOR A TABLE IN A PORTAL THAT INCLUDE EFFECTS AND TEXT THAT MUST BE HAND-DRAWN AND WHEN IT IS PERFECT THEY SAY "Just like that, only 20 pixels narrower." WHICH MEANS YOU HAVE TO REDO THE ENTIRE THING, ALL OF THEM BECAUSE IT IS ONLY 17 PIXELS HIGH AND THEREFORE THERE IS NO WIGGLE ROOM AND IT LOOKS LIKE CRAP IF IT IS SIMPLY RESIZED AND THEY'D RATHER YOU SPEND ANOTHER FOUR HOURS REDRAWING EVERYTHING RATHER THAN COME UP WITH SHORTER NAMES FOR THE COLUMNS.

*pant pant pant*

Thank you. I feel better. I'm going to lunch.

Wow, I didn't know that, Mack-`bout the `skeeters, I mean.

Hit music stations. I just want to jab hot (but not hot enough for the nerve-killing burn) blunt needles into my ears whenever I go to work and it's playing.
