Belle, why did you delete your religion thread from yesterday (or was it Monday?) I found your 2AM musings to be thoughtful, original, and very interesting. I enjoy having a meaningful discussion about religion.

I don't have a computer, so I can only get on Hatrack occasionally. Often, I have very limited time, so I post one comment, then leave and check back later on in the day to see where the topic went. But apparently, the thread went in some other direction after I posted, and then you deleted it. Whats up with that?

It wasn't because the thread took a nasty turn or anything, I deleted it because I didn't think I was expressing my thoughts very coherently and my points weren't really getting across the way I wanted them to. So, I was going back and revising my points and re-explaining myself and then I figured - since it's not making sense even to me, best it should die the quick merciful death.

Besides, we have so many other threads we're discussing religious views on, it was probably superfluous anyway.

Oh. It made sense to me. The problem with most of the other religion threads is that they seem to eventually take on a REALLY contentious tone, which I assumed was what happened to yours. I prefer the refreshing, "can't we all just get along" tone which you had in your original post.

But it was an interesting thread. I need as many perspectives as possible to understant things better and clearer.
