Wowsa. Check out this oil 9"x14" impressionist piece on winter woods landscape. Beautiful light on snow, great depth. Currently going for $20 plus S/H, with about 4 hrs left to bid.

There are others, but the woods scene is the most interesting.

Of some note is a 9"x12" oil still life of strawberries, with moderately good technique, but lacking passion. Much better at a distance (the shading stands out). Currently $1, reserve not yet met. Only about 45 minutes left to bid.

More intriguing to me is the acrylic miniature of Black Cat in Greece. The jewel tones of blue evoke the traditional sky/sea palette of Greece, and the impressionistic slurring suggests movement. Nice. Pretty marked contrast to the other Cat in Greece painting for sale by the same artist. The former is going for under $10 with 4 hrs left.

Check out the creepy Goth Dollhouse Furniture! Egads. $21 with 4 1/2 hrs to bid. Do not purchase this for your grandaughter, unless she is Wednesday Addams.

Chez cool black & white photography of a street in New Orleans, but not a patch on some of mack's work. (hint, hint *grin) $20, 5hrs.

How I love impressionism! [Smile] Actually, the strawberries bring me back to my childhood for some reason, and remind me of Holly Hobby.

The cats are very striking. That's quite some blue!

Um, the goth furniture guy is scary!

*rubs sleepy eyes* Is it really morning already? My poor husband was up ALL night coughing.

Aaaaaaaaaaaargh!

You are BREAKING me, CT! LOL. I love it. I bookmarked 'self-representing artists on Ebay' now.

The Greek Isle cats artist has a wonderful miniature of an Irish Wolfhound that I want to buy Lead. And is only $6.50 (for now)!

Aargh.

How cool is it that I actually recognized the place that picture was taken???

Neat! Thanks CT for reminding people what a great place the e-bay Self-representing artists pages are.

Thanks for reminding me of this beautiful thread. [Smile]

I'm currently bidding on three paintings, although I can probably only afford one:

Tuxedo Cat

Sunflower Field

Cat House

I'm probably going to get the Tuxedo cat one for my mom, since she has a cat that looks just like the subject in that painting. [Smile]

The Sunflower Field one I'm not too sure about. There are tons of cute barns and bright sunflowers paintings out there. This one is quite unique. There is a errie quality I really like, due to the shadow cast by the barn and the ominous clouds above.

The cat house... well, that's just good silly fun. [Smile]

Ooh, I like the Sunflower one. There is certainly something dark about it that you don't usually see in pictures that have sunflowers in them.

Well, you know what I mean.

Good luck!

Nope, definitely ominous.

*grin*

I like paintings that are sunny, but sometimes ALL I see in art is sunniness and that gets boring. The barn/sunflower painting is not boring. Yay!

I bid on another piece of art.

*bangs head on desk*

In my defense, it's of boxer dogs.

And it's really pretty.

*whimper*

*whispers 'help me'*

Jen, you're beyond help.

I TRIED to bid for you while you contemplated.

So I bid. And then you outbid me. *thwap*

ROFLMAO, mack!

Well, I'm holding strong at 15 dollars with four hours and some mins to go...

Here it is...not yet mine...

And mack, YOU were the one who kept 'yelling' at me to BUY IT--yes, you even Capitalized Most Uncouthly!

I am beyond help. I have started painting in self-defense. Maybe I can self-represent my art to myself. [Wink]

Oh, and mack, I couldn't find the red Kangol cap at the P/X today. [Frown] I did find the beige Kangol driving cap ($34.00 - 25%), but it didn't look nearly as good on you as the red one did.

*le sigh*

Instruct me. If you would like the beige driving cap, I will buy it for you.

I've been outbid on the boxer picture.

[Frown]

Frankly, it's kind of a relief. I couldn't justify it, not really. I just bought a faerie picture last week.

*sniffle*

I could continue to bid...but I am nervous. Only a little under two hours to go before the auction is closed.

*dangit*

I am not sure what to do.

Absolutely not. It's over thirty dollars now, even *I* won't justify that. (and I'm *really* good at rationalization)

I have to say, though, it is definitely worth a higher price. So dynamic! So pretty! *sniffle*

Jamie? You are the highest bidder??

*wiggle dance*

vwiggins, who are you talking about with the full walls? Hehe. Am I missing something? [Confused]

edited: oho! "wallfull" is the other bidder! Got it! I'm out of the bidding, sorry to say. Just can't justify it. Looks like mack is doing my work for me, though. What a pal!

I sell hand dyed and embellished kids' clothing. I haven't been selling so much on Ebay lately as I have been selling locally.

I buy clothing blanks from manufacturers, dye them custom colors, then add trim like appliques, embroidery, lace, whatever.

I love creating new things, it's more about feeding that need than it is making money, though I am in the black. It's amazing what the big chains charge for clothes, even if you add in the cost of the dye I use, shipping, the other materials I have to have to make the dyes work I still can buy and dye and embellish a cotton dress for my kids cheaper than I can buy it at WalMart and it will be a much higher quality. I only use 100% cotton jersey for kid's clothes (with the exception of active wear, which is a cotton/lycra blend) I also hand immerse and dye silk.

It's very cool. [Cool] Every thing I make is different - even the same dye will yield a different color with each batch, because the slightest thing can change the chemical reaction. More or less salt in the water, the temperature of the water, the presence of any oils on the cloth, anything.

I've done batches where I measured and poured each ingredient exactly the same as a previous batch and yet the colors were different in intensity. Never know what you're gonna get.

Sorry....get me started and I ramble on....we were talking about art, right? Art is good.

Ah! I love this!

New Listing on Ebay Self-Rep Art

There's something weird and creepy about it (but totally work-safe, I swear).

It made me laugh out loud, ferreal, and I'm going to be smiling about it all day long.

Hee.
