Thanks for the help, Hatrack [Smile]

I think two of you are quoted in my story -- littlemissattitude and Da_Goat, both of whom required that I make up psydonyms that sort of fit their names (Missy Atkins and Dan Goater, if I recall correctly).

Anyway, for those interested in reading, you can download the PDF from my website:

http://home.gwu.edu/~kase/generation_seX.pdf

(Oh -- and littlemissattitude, I didn't have a location for you orignially, so this PDF is inaccurate. The actual story I'll turn in will have the Central California location listed in your profile.)

Hmm...

You use the word racy and varients a lot. And the usage of cute is too opinionated in the end.

Nice article, though.

Nice article. If you haven't handed it in yet, you might want to fix this:

quote:
“I read Cosmo all the time. I love it,” says 18-year-old Molly Conway, an 18-
year-old freshman at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

I liked the article- you presented different points of view and possible reasons for those stances without taking sides yourself. Good job!

I dig the last line: "Sex only sells because we buy it."

Kasie, we may disagree on many issues, but that ain't one of them. Good job.

Wonderful Kasie! I know it is too early to dream of knowing someone who wins a Pulitzer but I can still dream...

I think it's a pretty good article. But when I was young (I'm only 33 of course) I also thought people should loosen up. I don't think it's a generation thing as much as an age thing. Yes, there are some folks who never lose the "loosen up" attitude (my aunt being one) but I think the majority of people, as they get into their late 20s and 30s feel less urgency for sex to be exposed. Either you have it in your life, or you don't want to be reminded that you don't.

I had actually thought some more about your survey and what I would do if one of my children did become sexually active in their teens. I would teach them how to do income taxes and accounting.
