Okay, Valentine's Day is almost upon us. What's the best album to have playing in the car on a date? What's the best make-out music? What's your favorite love song? I've got some ideas, but I'll post them after I've heard a few replies.

DJ Sammy's "Heaven", the slow version. It was the first song that Bernard and I danced to.

Weird. You'd think Frisco could get his left hand in the mood without music setting the scene.

Travelling Without Moving (Jamiroquai) contains some sexcellent material, as does Becoming X (Sneaker Pimps). [Smile]

It doesn't do much for me, but I had a girlfriend who always wanted Harry Connick Jr. playing in the background.

Maybe it was so she could picture him instead of me.

R Kelly's "Ignition", the original not the remix.

Yanni's "Love Songs" album. (There are no words, it is just instrumental) but it is SO romantic...

Farmgirl

edit: Although I would also have to agree with Valentine on the Barry White -- his voice just melts a woman.

"Sexual Healing"

"Rock your body" by Justin Timberlake.

But these are only good if you want a nice, tranquilly romantic evening.

I'm always a big fan of U2, but I think my favorite love song is "Yellow" by Coldplay.

(Here's my classical music buff point of view.)

It all depends on what he/she likes. [Smile]

If she's like Cher in Moonstruck, you need some Puccini in the background with one of the many beautiful Tenor/soprano love duets.

If she's old fashioned, the adagio movements to some symphonies are perfect. Violins are also killingly romantic!!

Meditation from Thais by Massenet is amazing and will melt any woman.

Adagietto from Mahler's 5th Symphony is one of the sexiest movements ever written by ANYONE.

Debussy and Ravel also wrote some stuff that's sensual and perfect for a romantic evening in or out.

I used to enjoy listening to The Ramones during a romantic encounter. Too much information, I think...

I do believe that Santana is shudderingly sexy.

And there is no equal to the late, great Barry White when it comes to meltingly gorgeous looooove music.

Amy Sky's album With This Kiss. Totally sweet, and if you really wanted to impress your date, there's a karaoke disc included. [Wink]

Also very nice is Karl Jenkins' Palladio, which you may want to be careful of as it is the famous DeBeers "diamond music."

There is also a wide range of non-vocal Celtic tunes that I for one find very romantic.

That song's only five minutes long. I don't know that I would go around admitting that.

Of course, I will only make love to "Pigs On the Wing (Part 1)", so I guess I have no room to talk. [Razz]

It doesn't matter how long the song is, that is what "replay" is for.
